Hey Gang! If any of you want to shill for BGTSCC to friends, family, reddit, any other social media, other fourms, etc - feel free to use this quick copy/paste:

If you are keen for both good roleplay and a fun video game to play at the same time, I wholeheartedly recommend NWN2. It is available off GOG, at this link:
https://www.gog.com/game/neverwinter_nights_2_complete

This cRPG has a thriving multiplayer community even to this day. The most populated and most fleshed out server is called BGTSCC, or Baldur's Gate: The Sword Coast Chronicles. It takes place in the areas surrounding Baldur's Gate, and of course the city itself. The server's timeline is currently just after the Time of Troubles (which happened over the course of 2022).

Here is a link below, to the server's fourms. The server's discord link can also be found on the fourms.

In order to connect to the server, you need valid CD keys (available from purchasing nwn2 off GoG). As well, you will need a mod called "Skywing's Client Extension", linked below for your convenience. You run nwn2 once, then you follow Skywing's readme and you'll be able to access multiplayer. Any server's downloads are downloaded automatically upon connecting.

If you are interested in D&D roleplay (BGTSCC is strictly in character, there are rules available on the forums but they are mostly intuitive for roleplayers), I would highly recommend checking it out. New players are always welcome. You are also welcome to come on the discord to ask questions, everyone is super friendly.

I hope you will enjoy it as much as I have. Cheers!

Do be aware for subreddits, I looked into this and a lot of them have rules against either private servers or telling people to buy a game. Since BGTSCC kinda involves both, I suggest contacting moderators with your intentions first.

I did this for r/DnD and they were super friendly. If you are thinking about it - just do it. Worst they can say is no, and usually they will understand that your intentions are good if you approach them first.

you could at least add the post so other BGTSCCers can add their take if they use reddit

This is always a good spot to link to, and was redesigned as a bit of a landing page: https://www.bgtscc.net/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=2638
