Here is the PnP Rulebook version of the Level 9 Implosion spell:Range : Short
Target/Area : Medium
Duration : Instant
You create a vortex of destruction that tears asunder all living things within its area of effect, killing them instantly unless they make their saving throw.
Creatures immune to death effects, including those protected by Death Ward, cannot be killed by this spell.
In either instance, does this spell state that "friendlies" are collateral damage (possible, if within range). Yet, unlike so many other Level 9 spells—Meteor Storm or Storm of Vengeance as example—those spell descriptions are clear that only "enemies" are affected.Range: Close (25 ft. + 5 ft./2 levels)
Target: One corporeal creature/round
Duration: Concentration (up to
You create a destructive resonance in a corporeal creature's body.
For each round you concentrate, you cause one creature to collapse in on itself, killing it.
(This effect, being instantaneous, cannot be dispelled).
You can target a particular creature only once with each casting of the spell.
Implosion has no effect on creatures in gaseous form or on incorporeal creatures.
So you tell me: should a spell that literally implodes a single being from the inside should have a wide and free (read: unfriendly) radius, but something like a storm of acid rain and lightning, or literal meteors dropping from the sky...doesn't?!?!?
So, my suggestion is: change Implosion (spell) to only affect enemies. Especially NOT the caster. Please. Thank you.
