BG by BG ID 194 outfit boots not overriden when equipping a pair

What happened:

BG by BG outfit 194 has built in boots. This prevents choosing boots of personal preference from being picked.

What was expected to happen:

For when putting on another set of boots, the original one to be overriden.

What happened:

The built in boots clip with the personally chosen ones.
This is particularly frustrating as the built in boots got narrow high heels.

... You do know there's an abundance of newer chest models with boots baked into the model, right? This has been going on for years.

Not a bug. Tragically. You're expected to use an invisible MP boot model, instead.

Due to the models coming from a lot of different places, it takes a lot more time and effort to make boots from one outfit fit onto other outfits with out a small gap or over lap. In order to just focus on making more outfits available and not spending all the time and effort on boots, it was decided to just put the entire outfits with the boots with them in. Some over lap better than others. I myself have combinations that I use that glitch slightly.. .and just had to accept it is an old ass game.. but at least we don't have to only deal with only the vanilla appearances anymore. :)

I often make a point of avoiding those outfits, because something like 70% of them have stilettos and none of my characters are daft enough to try adventuring in that stuff. (The sole exception was a shapeshifter who could sort-of negate the disadvantages, or use Disguise Self with a more reasonable set of footwear.)

....Do we have to react this way? No, not everyone can know everything. Simply answering the question is the better way at times. ;)

Yep, as Orthias explains it, those are outfits taken from other places or even copied from other games.

I iamgine some don't work the same way in NWN2. What i did is, either try different types and models of boots until i found models that cover the built in boots if i didn't like them. Or if it wasn't what i wanted and still liked it, i used the said naked / Invisible boots. Can be a bit annoying since i don't wear one and the same outfit on my character at all times. So you may end up having to chnage the boots as...again. ^^
If the boots cause clipping bugs, and i went to buy several pairs of boots, and used then depending on the outfit and occassion. I hope that helps a bit. :)

She's played at least twice as long as I have, and has used the appearance kit at least as long as I've been on the server. (Which is incidentally also my minimum estimate for how long we've had models like this.)

That she is only now noticing this... it boggles the mind.

I tend to be averse to change.

Changing my forum profile pic from the old dress one to the coat one was a headache.

Changing Atria's head model from the vanilla elf head to something that looked nicer took Hydros nearly a week of haranguing me to get over my aversion of changing what is familiar.

Hydros found the coat model that looked like the coat model from Dishonored 2 and I grabbed it and just kept it without searching for new models. Before that, I used the Triss Witcher 3 model.

When these new models were added, Hydros tried to convince me to try the new ones but I did not really feel like it as it represented change and I tend to get somewhat very attached to specific things. So I didn't.

I was going through models though recently to try and put together an outfit for "am doing cleric related RP" and saw ID 194 and thought "this actually looks similar enough to the Dishonored 2 coat that the change would not be that significant", so I took it and changed my "travelling/not filling any specific role (Avowed or cleric)" outfit to use it.

Then I noticed the boots and had the same issue as you did with "my PC would not wear heels for her adventuring gear."

I reported it as a bug since I could not find specific mention on the wiki, and my own experience doing developer work for another server basically taught me: "players will complain about a buggy feature constantly on discord without actually opening a ticket on github, and I wish they did because there's way too many bugs that I can actually fix that I don't know exist." Thus, that experience informs me to search forums, if can't find, post bug report.

I did manage to mess around with clipping various boot appearances long enough that it's not obvious I am clipping things, and the other boot conveniently fills the heels out so they don't look that blatant beyond a minor practical cowboy-boot style heel.
