Baldur's Gate : The Sword Coast Chronicles : NWN2 Persistent World

Hi everyone,

As you've all probably noticed by now, I've been pretty absent lately. I have been on a break from NWN2. Unfortunately, I don't think that break will be ending. I am very burned out on NWN2. Between character developments that have largely left me on the outside of regular RP and the fact that I was becoming overwhelmed by the amount of development work I was promising and other work that needed to be done (and how uncooperative the toolset and game are), the server had gotten to the point where it felt like a job rather than a hobby. And since I'm now working 6 days a week and trying to otherwise get my life in order, my time at home is generally being reserved for resting or doing hobbies that I do enjoy.

I came in as an admin at a time when the server's prospects were looking very dire. I had applied for the position with a lot of energy and had a clear vision for what I wanted to do to move the server forward and build morale among our staff and players, and I feel I had made some good steps in that direction. But things have stalled. While I still have a vision, the energy is just no longer there. I feel it is absolutely essential for server administration to be active and invested in the server, and I cannot remain as an admin while I do not have that investment. As such, I am going to be stepping down from the position of admin and server staff. The team has been working hard on selecting replacements, which will be announced soon.

I may still stop by in-game, and if I get the energy again I might re-apply to staff. But for the time being at least I need to step away, and it is not appropriate for me to stay on as admin while I am not fulfilling my responsibilities to the server. I am sorry that I was unable to get to everything that I had been planning.

Sad to see you go, Rhifox. You definitely left a positive mark on the Server, through your hard work and investment, both as admin/dev and role-player.

PS– there is this concept of having an Alt character, that you know, can be light and fun and give you plenty of reward in RP, but doesn’t have to “keep up” the big story. So maybe see you around!!

Jokes aside, don't forget to come by and just have fun. You did a very hard job while being both Admin and dev and i hope you can just come and enjoy the fruits you seeded.

I trully appreciated your work to the community, it was always amazing to chat with you about the changes that were to come, and i know
that it takes real skill to take in feedback about something you're working on, so trully, thank you, it was good work that i will remember for a long time.

I joined the server sometime after the warlock rework and shortly before the martial update dropped. Hugely ambitious things to add to the game and really thankful for all the time and headaches that you must have gone through to get them in. Thanks for everything. Hope to see you return some time in the future.

I really admired the vision and energy you came with, though it seemed very ambitious and I think a bit of a burn out was innevitable, with the amount of time you have invested here for us all.

I've thought a bit about what to say, so here goes:

Rhifox, you have done absolutely amazing work on this server, above and beyond anything I'd ever seen or come to expect. Your updates, but more importantly your dedication to a server of people is truly admirable.

Despite the many detractors on this server, you've pursued what your vision dictated regardless. And despite their multitude of complaints, and attitudes that were less than positive, you've never strayed from that vision from what I can tell.

I can't thank you enough for your time, or your efforts into building out the server what it is today. Take a well deserved break, and I hope to see you in game again.

Your work will always be remembered by me for the Time of Troubles , that was my best moments on the server!
