Baldur's Gate : The Sword Coast Chronicles : NWN2 Persistent World

Equipping my shield on my Man At Arms character appears to give me 1 AC higher than it should.

The character is currently 9 MaA / 2 Fighter / 1 Rogue. Shield is a heavy shield +3. Relevant feats (other than shield block from MaA) include Shield Specialization: Heavy.

So, equipping the shield SHOULD give +7 AC. 2 base, +3 Enchantment +1 Shield Specialization +1 Shield Block. Instead I'm getting +8. I THINK what's happening is Shield Block is looking at my character level of 12 to determine how much AC bonus to give instead of my class level of 9.

{Edited to add] Equipping a Tower Shield +4, which I do not yet have specialization in, should increase my AC by 9. It increases by 10

There's two bugs at work here, it seems:

1. Shield Block erroneously reapplies the bonuses from Shield Specialization if you have any of the feats.
2. Shield Specialization doesn't actually care whether the shield and feat match.

Yikes! Is this something that can be fixed? I was planning to take Shield Specialization Tower at level 16 with this character because she carries one of each to adjust her offense/defense ratio as needed. Will that bork things up even more? Or shall I let you know?

Yeah, someone just needs to get around to it. (Possibly me, but I haven't yet.)

Nope. You won't suddenly start triple-dipping on Specialization AC, don't worry.
