Lys grew up with her adopted grandfather (affectionally called just "grandfather") in a village of little note along the Trade Way. Her grandfather was a rather accomplished Wizard in his time and they lived in relative peace off of his life savings. Very rarely they would venture out of the village to nearby cities for supplies. Usually they would keep to themselves as her grandfather tried to teach her all that he knew.

While Lys had a fairly strong affinity for languages, her relationship with the weave was more of a chaotic nature than her grandfathers. He simply told her that she had a "natural talent" and attempted to teach her how to control it. Whenever she would ask of her origins or why she had these powers, grandfather would claim to not know.

Throughout her life her grandfather also taught her to follow in the path of Torm, to be good of heart and firm in justice, but also discerning of when an action is truly just.

After her grandfathers passing, she donated his estate to the villagers, keeping only a few mementos and enough money to support herself on the road until she could find work as an adventurer.

Being 20 years of age, her goal is now to find out the true nature of her heritage. Or at least
the ability to hone the abilities that were passed down to her.
