What exactly happens at Strength 0?

What can be gleamed from the Wiki this is what happens:
  • Heavily Encumbered
  • Feats only active/usable while unencumbered stop working
  • Strength mod becomes -5, affecting AB, Damage, and certain skill/feat rolls

But what about other than that?

  • Is the character's movement speed reduced to 0 from having no carry capacity?
    • If so, is it considered Flat-Footed due to being unable to move?
  • Does Strength 0 disable Epic Dodge?

Does something else happen?

Or is it just what the wiki states?

As-stands, NWN2 does not implement any specific penalties for having a 0-stat, and only implements based on the numerical penalty evaluated at 0 (the -5 modifier, and any other normal effects from a low modifier).

This extends to and includes having 0-constitution (such as from Wyvern poison), that per RAW should be instant death. A 0 in any other ability score should result in paralysis or helplessness, but does not.

The information you have from the wiki is therefore accurate, as the only effective speed penalty comes from having a carry capacity of 0, and therefore considered heavily encumbered.

Alright. Thank you for answering :)

I've played on Sigil for a few years in the past, and one of the classes there would insta-kill enemies by draining Int, Wis, or Cha down to 0 with abilities. Must have been a custom change, and not a NWN2 staple then.

Thank you again.

In DnD and atm I cannot recall which edition or if it changed between editions but if you reached a 0 stat you would die. Did not exactly matter what one iirc, that was it. 0 stat, dead. NWN both 1 and 2 does not do this as when I first started playing I had a fear of losing my stats too much lmao.

Not sure in nwn2, but this is what is supposed to happen in PnP:
  • Strength 0 means that the character cannot move at all. He lies helpless on the ground.
  • Dexterity 0 means that the character cannot move at all. He stands motionless, rigid, and helpless.
  • Constitution 0 means that the character is dead.
  • Intelligence 0 means that the character cannot think and is unconscious in a coma-like stupor, helpless.
  • Wisdom 0 means that the character is withdrawn into a deep sleep filled with nightmares, helpless.
  • Charisma 0 means that the character is withdrawn into a catatonic, coma-like stupor, helpless.

Exactly the lies helpless on the ground part for Strength going to 0 was what I was vaguely remembering. For Rogues (Crippling Strike) and Swashbucklers (Weakening Critical) it would be a means of treating the target as Helpless (similar to Hold Person?) for the purposes of removing Dexterity, Dodge, and Acrobatics bonuses to AC as well as enabling Sneak Attack dice.

In hindsight though it would be extremely powerful, and probably all Dex-based melee builds would be using Swashbuckler 14, which they aren't.
