Baldur's Gate : The Sword Coast Chronicles : NWN2 Persistent World

Trying out some build idea, and I noticed that from the same Build, if using the Telthor Companion feat, by summoning a Telthor versus the Orglash, I get two different HDs...20 and 21 respectively. See below. Is there an explainable reason for this? The build has 31 progression levels for the Telhor Companion (15 Spirit Shaman + 10 Hierophant w/ Animal Companion feat + 3 Natural Bond feat + 3 Epic Animal Companion feat).

I am not privy to why orglash and telthor were made the way they were. But presumably it's intentional.

Fair enough. Seems...unfair?!? lol.

Anyway, I'm still trying to get the Animal Companion mechanics of Leveling correct—in my head at least—because things still don't match up.

Related to Animal Companions: when—and if—your PC has Epic Animal Companion feat, and thus the +3 levels applied to Total Progression, when will the Animal Companion actually go above 20 HD?

For example, Epic Animal Companions can get to 23 HD. However...what is the Character Level bracket for 20 HD, 21 HD, 22 HD and 23 HD (well...I'm assuming Character Level 30 + Epic Animal Compation Feat (+3) for total of 33, for the highest Companion HD). But what if your PC has Epic Animal Companion feat but only 31 Levels (Character 25 + 3 Natural Bond + 3 Epic Animal Companion feat)??

Because, as far as the progression mechanics are explained, the PC's HD and corresponding Levels that progress Animal Companion "growth" —plus feats like Natural Bond and Epic Animal Companion—should be determining the final HD of the Companion...which is why I'm still puzzled that one is 20, one is 21, but...shouldn't they actually be equal, that being 21 because of my PC's Progression Levels??
