Hi!

The empower healing feat granted by the healing domain doesn't work. Its checkable by casting cure minor wounds which have a fixed heal of 4 hp, with the empower healing feat it is supposed to always heal 6 hp. It affects all the other healing spells too, but its harder to check since there is a variation in how much you heal depending on the dice roll.

I was planning on making a healing focused character with the healing domain combined with the augment healing feat for some big heals. I know that empower healing used to work properly on the server before (recently started playing again after a few years).

I would be eternally grateful if this gets fixed! (and hopefully its possible to fix)

Looks like the wrong bitwise operator. It was nMetaMagic &= METAMAGIC_EMPOWER where it should have been nMetaMagic |= METAMAGIC_EMPOWER. Easy fix, going live on the next server reset.

The result would be that only Empower would remain on the spell (other metamagics would be stripped off, though in practice this would only be noticeable with Maximize), and only if it had already been on the spell in the first place.

Question:

Will we expect Empower Healing to also affect Healing spells from non-cleric spellbooks too? I am asking if I should report it as a bug if I notice my bard healing spells healing less than expected after the patch. (As a multiclass bard/cleric with Healing domain)

Empower Healing only cares that you didn't cast the spell from an item. I don't see any way your spells would start underperforming today, though: Under no circumstances does this fix reduce healing.

Not sure if this is worth pointing out but I’m not sure if cure minor wounds would benefit from empower healing? Empower healing per the wiki acts as if a cure spell had the empower spell metamagic feat applied but empower spell only applies a 50% bonus to the variable portion of a spell’s healing/damage. Cure Minor Wounds per the wiki heals a flat four hp, there is no variable component.

Empower Spell in NWN2 (and the Owlcat games, incidentally) just straight-up adds 50% to the spell, most of the time. This includes constant values like the entirety of Cure Minor Wounds.
