Ancestors/Heritage:

ABANZZI/GUR

The origins of the Abanzzi clans are passed down from generation to generation in ancient legends and tales - but the truth of the matter is shrouded in the mists of eons past.

According to legend, it all began with a pact between a group of nomads and one or a group of dragons. Whether these nomads were already part of the Gur from Rashemen at the time or only joined the Gur traditions and way of life over the course of time is no longer known - as is the case with many of the tribes, clans and families of the Gur people.

This pact took place long after the arrival of the dragons during the Starfall, the wars against the giants and long after the first appearance of the Curse of Recurring Madness - a time when the dragons still ruled their territories but no longer ruled the world. At this time, rumours of war from the south reached the north and the Heartlands - and of victory for the genies and their allied humans and halflings over the dragons of the south.

A dragon of the north - or a group of dragons - recognised the usefulness of mortals as a kind of servant - even in the competition of the most powerful beings of Faerun. Thus, the dragons offered a pact to a group of nomads who had been robbed of their homes by the wars and dangers of the North, so that they would be the eyes and ears of the dragons in the far lands, as well as the messengers between the dragons. This pact, born of human need and dragon cunning, was the birth of the Abanzzi clans. They follow in the tradition of many tribes, clans and families of the Gur, who in days long past made pacts and agreements with a wide variety of powerful entities - be they dragons, powerful spirits of nature, fey, wizards - or even far darker entities that sit enthroned behind the mists.

Whether there is still an existing pact in Lagrima's clan, whether it is dormant and even which dragons are behind it is known only to the clan elders ((and the DM who might want to take it up one day)).

BARD

The Abanzzi and many Gur believe that it was the dragons who brought the knowledge of the magic of the World Song and the Song of Creation to our world. According to their legends, it was from them that mortals learnt the magic of the inspirational arts, whether through bloodlines or by awakening latent talents through training and instruction. Even today, the Abanzzi bards draw on this heritage with their knowledge and magical abilities - even if, after so many generations of humans, a direct ancestral line to a dragon is rarely established or revealed.
Lagrima's path as a bard is primarily that of a storyteller and keeper of legends.

In addition, to earn gold, she offers her services in palm reading, card reading or rune casting - as well as spirit seances, love potions and healing potions for everything, healing animals, birth assistance (or the opposite) - in other words, the services that others expect from Gur.

SHAMAN

During their wanderings as Gur, their clans came into contact with many peoples, cultures and traditions. And also with many different entities, be they powerful beings and wizards, fey or spirits of the land and its inhabitants. In order to cope with all the dangers - but also to do business with all potential allies - the Gur follow many paths: those of bards and rangers, wizards and sometimes even magicians, clerics (especially Selunes) and also shamans. The latter two paths have the task of dealing with all non-worldly beings and protecting their clans from adversity and danger. The boundaries are blurred, as the Gur have no codified theories like those found in the mage academies - which more often than not contradict themselves.

As a shaman - also known as a spirittalker or spiritwalker - Lagrima's duties therefore include interacting with spirits, ghosts, fey, elementals and, in some cases, the undead. Devils, demons and celestial beings, however, are more the domain of the Selune priestesses of her clan.

To be prepared for this, Lagrima also learnt the hidden secret of blood magic ((shaman feat)).

SHIFTER

The Gur's patron deity is the moon in the form of Selune - some tribes and clans even speak of a pact with the moon. Just as the moon is constantly changing and yet always remains the same, the Gur wander around and constantly incorporate new things into their traditions - and yet always remain Gur.

According to legend, the moon goddess grants some of the Gur the gift of transforming like herself. These are called the Tears of the Moon among the Gur. Lagrima possesses this gift and can - according to her own explanation of the gift - merge with her wolfish spirit guide and other totem spirits if the worst comes to the worst.

History:

Lagrima lived her whole life in the centre of her clan. Both her gift and her ability to see spirits were recognised early on by the elders, who taught her according to her talents. To balance and mediate between these gifts - or perhaps burdens - she was also taught the art of the bard.
Six years ago she became the mother of twins and it remains to be seen what gifts they have inherited from their mother. But in order to perfect her path as a shaman and bard, tradition dictates that she must live away from her clan and family for some time in order to learn new things and "change while remaining the same".
So she left her clan a moon ago and remained alone with her wagon south of the great bridge at Wyrm's Crossing to begin this part of her path. It remains a mystery why she chose this place of all places - or whether she was even aware of it.

Future:

Lagrima will return to her clan one day, bringing with her new knowledge, new songs and, above all, new legends. And she will be able to embrace her daughters again. The only question is what she will experience until then.

Heirloom items:
a magical musical instrument?
a valuable buck with legends and myths - and full of knowledge and secrets?
an ancient heirloom with a hidden connection to dragons?
a truly useful magical item like her Ever-Dry Boots from Calimshan?

Plot hooks:
anything related to spirits or dragons
will the hidden art of blood magic or her gift of Selunes get her into trouble one day?
anything that can happen to Gur from the settled inhabitants of the setting

Sorry, in the bard capter the online translator to englisch translated one time "Gur" with "goods" - corrected.
