Hello everybody,
my charakter Thera'eara have the Language Chondathan from Background and I pick the Language from the List of Bonus-Languages.
Now she have twice Chondathan.
Is there a solution to switch the Bonus-Language? Or is it a bug?
(I hope this is the right channel for that question.)

That stuff happened to me once, too. I chose a language I forgot I'd already known and ended up with having it doubled on my language list. Then I RcR'ed eventually, too.

The language system can break if you create a character of the same name on the same reset, as some variables are not properly cleared. This is why we recommend waiting until after a reset before recreating the character after deleting it. (Recreating on the other server would also probably work).

Between Ged and Septirage's respective solutions, this should no longer be an issue under any circumstance, and I can confirm having RCRed in the same session on the same server without incident.Rhifox wrote: ↑Mon Jun 24, 2024 7:02 am The language system can break if you create a character of the same name on the same reset, as some variables are not properly cleared. This is a separate issue, where the language picker doesn't realize you already know a language, allows you to take it (at least) twice on the same character, and apparently never realizes its mistake. I've noticed the UI side of the issue, but since I never picked a duplicate language, I never got to discover the part where it thinks the duplicates are distinct languages.

Re: Double Chondathan-Language
I noticed the following pattern:
If you select a language (e.g. halfling), if you relog the UI (if >= 1 languages left open) will know you took that language and will not display this language as an option. However, if the server restarted in the meantime, the UI forgets that you have this language selected and populates the list with this entry again.
Could it be that the "language known"-list, which is shown in the combat log, is not transfered to the UI, which holds its own list of "UI known languages"? This "UI known languages" list then is lost after a server restart.

This is a known issue, yeah. The variables checked by the list are saved on the PC rather than kemo tool. I thought I tried to fix this before, but seems it didn't take. Or maybe I never committed it.Ithrinael wrote: ↑Mon Jul 01, 2024 3:02 pm I noticed the following pattern:
