Suggestion Feat - Stability

I would like that heavy/medium armor tankbuilds would get the possibility to lessen the dangers of knockdown (not immunity).

Reason:
For dexplayers with cloths and light armor (kip-up) it can be a fun challenge to fight NPC with knockdown. Same goes for strength dps builds (mostly orcs/earth-genasis) that have a chance to resist it.
This leaves us heavy fullplate tanks on the floor.

It might look hilarious when the tank is surrounded by four giants and just lay on the ground unable to do anything until the rest of the group kills them. But playwise its not.
Dont get me wrong, I do like that knockdown and disarm is implemented for the npc. It gives flavor and interesting encounters.

My suggestion is therefore to implement the feat Stability from DnD 3.5

DnD 3.5 Comparison (from BGTSCC wiki of the race Shield Dwarf/Gold Dwarf)
  • The racial feat stability has been excluded: A dwarf gains a +4 bonus on ability checks made to resist being bull rushed or tripped (see knockdown) when standing on the ground (but not when climbing, flying, riding, or otherwise not standing firmly on the ground).
For fairness Stability could be chosen by anyone but works only if wearing medium or heavy armor. (just like Kip-up only works for cloth/light armor.)

Guessing the new Gray Peaks got you ?
Interesting idea though . 0:)
Not sure if +4 alone would help against those giants , they got a lot of str and size bonuses .
Would be nice to have the option at least .

I changed to mithral light armor to test it with Kip-up, it was challenging but fun. Sadly i think there will be way less players that choose medium/heavy armor.

Stability houserule: Resist knockdown: CON modification sum? Example 24 CON gives 7 bonus against knockdown. Or just keep it at 4!

So uses con instead of str/dex to resist knockdown if higher if wearing heavy/med armor . That could be more effective .

I like the feat Stability give some bonus to the already set ability checks. But the the bonus could be the same as CON modifer *or just plain +4 as the DnD 3.5 tabletop rules.)
