Eldritch Knight, whats in a name?

It may be just me, but the name of this class bugs me to no end.

It is a class meant to enhance arcane casting classes into gish, but it is not accessible or improves the class that its name is most associated with: Warlock. My Eldritch Knight cannot Eldritch Blast.

If it is unlikely that the class can be reworked to function with and improve warlock caster levels, can it at least get a name change to Arcane Knight or something less associated with Warlock?

*fully aware of the if it aint broke dont fix it idea, so not expecting a change. But nothing happens if a request isnt made either.

(Someone got bored and decided to dwell in unanswered topics occasionally >.>)

So, I did a little research (googled it) and what did I found so far:
  • In 3.5e word "eldritch" is used as equivalent to "arcane", hence class uses "arcane" magic
  • Class was called that way to separate it from Arcane Trickcter (and archer) and Mithic Theurge classes in order to avoid similar words
  • There also was some sort of Spellsword PRC being mentioned (plus saw it in non-server version of Kaedrin's pack) but it works completly different from EK as far I understand
Additional note - the PRC is older than Warlock (something about base class being published year later and his Blast being even more younger, still not sure about this) so in fact it's the latter one need redesigns but it's not going happen, we all know that

UPD: found next information about "eldritch" things being used by not-warlocks :
The feat Eldritch Corruption (Heroes of Horror p.122) applies to any spellcaster. Eldritch Erosion (Complete Scoundrel p.77) is a feat for rogues who sneak attack enemies with spell resistance. The metamagic feats Entangling Spell and Lingering Spell (Champions of Ruin p.20) described as releasing eldritch energy, again a synonym for "arcane" without special meaning, while the same book p.139 details Prince-Consort Imbrar Heltharn, a death knight fallen paladin blackguard whose Abyssal Blast releases "eldritch fire".
