Anyone interested in Sailing/Privateer/Pirates/Merchant/Shipping/Smuggling Sword Coast type RP

Hello!
My latest and greatest main character has a bit of a sailor flavor to him. Actually his background was that of a soldier/scout/sniper. But during his time as a soldier he spent a bit of time on troop transport ships. He has gained sort of a bit of a taste for sailing and would like to get into this line of business a bit more.

Now I bring this up because I would like to see if there are any other players interested OOC'ly setting up a group that would be interested in ICly getting involved in the sailing life. It could be related to anything the above title of this thread recommends. At this point I am just throwing it out there to see if there is any general interest. I would like to keep the options open to see if any are interested in this sort of RP.

I mean we are on the Sword Coast after all!

I could go the route of obtaining a ship and then searching for a crew. But I think I would rather just see if there is an interest and maybe see what roles other players would like to take in this first- then put our plans into action.

This does not have to be a total commitment to a total investment in this kind of RP. You totally can if you want and that would be great. But a lot of the work in a merchant marine business would happen on dry land. This could simply be a side hustle for your character, that like my character, has a bit of sailing in his blood that he/she wants to indulge.

I dont know...if anyone has any suggestions or ideas or even thinks it might be fun to try some Jack Sparrow RP, please let me know by private message or respond to this post with your input.

I think there are groups who are engaged in this type of RP in Roaringshore pretty regularly.
