Baldur's Gate : The Sword Coast Chronicles : NWN2 Persistent World

Hi all!

I recently stumbled across the server while googling some Baldur’s Gate 3 content and was excited to find such an active RP community set in the Forgotten Realms. Years and years ago, I played on a similar NWN1 RP persistent world called Battledale, and I’ve been itching to return to this setting and this server looks like a great fit.

While I’m generally familiar with the mechanics and this edition of D&D, it’s been a while and I have to admit I’m a bit overwhelmed (in the best way) by all the build possibilities due to the server’s prestige classes.

For my first character, I’m planning to stick to the surface at least to get a feel for the world and ease into the RP scene. That said, I’m definitely intrigued by the Underdark and would consider exploring it with a second character down the line.

Since my play schedule can be a bit unpredictable and I may not always be on during peak hours, I’m looking for a more solo focused build that will allow me to explore more of the server’s content. I’m not tied to any particular class or race, so I’m open to any suggestions as long as they have some solid solo potential and offer good RP hooks.

Apologies if this is a bit of an open-ended request, just hoping to get pointed in a good direction by folks who know the ins and outs of the server. Thanks in advance for any help you can offer! Looking forward to getting started and hopefully crossing paths with some of you in game.

I'd start of with most any simple str build for early power and easy exploration . Use magic device skill advised , at least enough to use wands .
Many folks use the discord though , you can try get more complex build advise there too . As I'm not great at detailed build planning .

The server is currently in the years shortly after the time of troubles, setting wise.

Regarding builds, there is a dedicated community to help you in discord. It really depends on your idea for your first character. What always goes is a bard, those can be leveled to 30 without any prestige class and still be effective. You can also try your different builds in jegs, available under game.bgtscc.net:5123 (direct connect in nwn2), where you can level to your hearts desire.
