God-moding
This is by far the singlemost irritating rp behavior out there. God-moding is when you do something that affects another character without giving them leave to decide their own actions or opinions. An extreme form of god-moding would be emoting that you stab the other character, killing them instantly. It can take other, more subtle, forms though.
If you emote something along the lines of another person’s character noticing that your character has eyes red from crying, that is god-moding. A better choice would be to emote that your character rubs at eyes red from crying and leave it up to the other player as to whether they notice it or not. Sometimes characters have reasons for not noticing things.
Many role players won’t come flat out and tell someone they are god-moding. That is, perhaps, a fault many share. Generally they will ignore the god-moded behavior and continue on with whatever they were doing or simply ignore the character guilty of it. If you find yourself being ignored or legitimately snubbed and you truly do want to improve, don’t get angry, ask the person about it in whispers. Usually others are quite open to helping eager role players improve their rp skill.

Scenario 1
If my character thinks your character is beautiful, I will role play it so.
Don't emote for me that my character considers you beautiful, because he just might think you look like a Bugbear.
Scenario 2
Don't make your character commit a crime in front of an NPC Guard and assume the NPC cant do nothing just because its not animated.
Because in a real scenario, that Guard would be trying to arrest your character regardless if your character resist or not.
Or in the case if the Guard was controlled by a DM, they would surely be trying to arrest your character.
2.5 - Metagaming
Any information your character has should be gained from IC sources that are not your alternate characters. Out-of-character information can be helpful to gain context as a player, but by no means should it be used to dictate any aspect of in-character behavior. (Also see 3.5 - Alternate Characters under Mechanics.)
Abusing avenues of communication to facilitate metagaming from others is also prohibited. An example of such an abuse would be your character dying in a zone a long way away, so you set a Scry message or send a Tell for someone to come over to raise you in order to avoid a death penalty.

If your character didn't in game hear it, see it, wasn't told about it, didn't read about it, didn't smell or taste it, they know nothing.
A DM Rumor post on the forums is made to let players be aware of said rumor. However to keep the rp wholesome and genuine, ask yourself, "Would your character know of the rumors in the City of Baldur's if your character has been staying in Amn?" If you said, "Maybe a merchant from Baldur's spoke of said rumors" I can go with that if your character actually met the merchant .
3.5 - Alternate Characters
BGTSCC imposes no limitation on the amount of Alternate Characters (Alts) you may have, though under certain conditions:
Alts can know of each other, but may never, under no circumstances, exchange information between each other, nor can they be related unless one has been officially retired. This includes "off-screen" interactions, or in general any interaction that involves only you as a player. Alice may know Bob is a Blood Mage, but if the player behind Alice is also playing Charlie, that player cannot have Alice tell Charlie by any means that Bob is a Blood Mage.
If your Alt character in Soubar was involved in an event at Soubar, then your alt Paladin, doesn't know a damn thing of what your other alt was doing.

Some players that like to have several alts, tend to get lazy and short cut their information and knowledge sometimes even purposely thinking its okay. STOP IT. Anything your alt says that only your other character knows is completely invalid. It should not be used, it should not be attempted and its against the rules. STOP IT. It's terrible Rp, its terrible for the server and it will ruin peoples game play as well as ruin your reputation as a player if not get you banned.
