Some clarification for Named Beings and focusing on gemstones: if you have a gemstone with a Named Being placed on it, and you trade it or move it, one cannot summon said Named Being on the new "owner" PC (which makes sense, because there was never any negotiation).

However, from my own testing, it seems that one cannot "reset" the gemstone—Blue, Canary, normal Diamond—in order to reset the focus and the negotiation for the new gemstone "owner."

So essentially, once a diamond is bound with a planar focus, it is "locked" to one PC, and the diamond cannot be reset for future use. The gem is permanently "used" up. Is this correct?

I'd also update the wiki with this info so others will learn the limitations on the Name Beings system.

Another reason to clear this up is that if a player RCRs their PC, and they have an diamonds used for a Planar Focus, they will not only lose that focus—the negotiation part—but also lose the ability to REUSE those gemstones for re-negotiation. That has a big cost to the player, if they have either RP'd, purchased or grinded to acquire Diamonds that are (very) rare.

You can reuse the gem (by inscribing a new name on it) for up to 3 times after which the gem explodes.

It is interesting that you say that, but that hasn't been my experience (which is why I've started this thread). Perhaps a gem can be reused ONLY by the first Character that uses it. But if you RCR, said gem is invalidated. Essentially trash (even according to the DMs, who just recently gave me this confirmation).
