Change mage staves item type

Currently all the mage staves purchasable in shops (like at the Sorcerous Sundries or High Hedge) are set to quarterstaff. This means for a halfling or a gnome, you have to actually have monkey grip to even equip them. That's a bit silly, especially when they are technically meant to be magic staves, rather than quarter staves.
With that in mind, I suggest changing the item type of all of these to Magic Staff, so they are accessible to all mages.
I doubt any mages are actually using these as physical weapons anyways, so any change in physical damage by dice or strength modifier doesn't really matter.

Newly acquired staves : Cast spell and bonus spell slot staves base property types changed to magic staves rather than quarterstaves next update. The remainder of quarterstaves remain after reviewing that most of their properties are martial in nature, the monkey grip requisite for small stature (racial AC/size boon synergies) should remain.

I find it lack of Knowledge of Lore of Forgotten Realms and DnD how tall is a gnome and a Halfling there is a Reasen a human wizard /sorcerer need to have a staff went their get weak their bodie is not the same as a warrior it can be hard to stand up and walk but a small Gnome dont need that we know that for a fact from Draagonlance a Young man in a Weak Bodie Raistlin Majere. I stil hold on that you need a the feat Monking Grep for quarterstaff all staff you can buy just you can get a feat you dont have to use a feat monkey Grip white a min will that say that my 2 chars that use2 staff dont need monkey Grip anymore ?

The change does not apply to staves with martial combat properties. If a staff has a property of physical damage or deflection AC, it was exempted from the change and monkey grip will be required. Magic staves don't typically maintain the same durability of a quarterstaff to be able to perform the same.
Code: Select all
> A typical staff is 4 feet to 7 feet long and 2 inches to 3 inches thick, weighing about 5 pounds
Code: Select all
> Dire flails, dwarven urgroshes, gnome hooked hammers, orc double axes, quarterstaffs, and two-bladed swords are double weapons. A character can fight with both ends of a double weapon as if fighting with two weapons, but he or she incurs all the normal attack penalties associated with two-weapon combat, just as though the character were wielding a one-handed weapon and a light weapon.
The character can also choose to use a double weapon two handed, attacking with only one end of it. A creature wielding a double weapon in one hand can’t use it as a double weapon—only one end of the weapon can be used in any given round.

It would be nice to have a way to change existing quarterstaff mage staves to magic staves, as a mostly gnome only player, I can't tell you the amount of times I included monkey grip to my builds on mages just to be able to have the staff aesthetic, hell, that's why I added magic staves in the first place lol
Nexus one time convertor npc?

Any news on this? I see only one staff has been changed thus far ingame (staff of frost). I hope more staves become available to gnomes and halflings!

Their templates were modified but we'll be modifying stores on mass scales to refresh against their template modifications than having to individually replace the items each time.

It's been a moment, so I'm going to nag a bit and ask if this change will happen soon?
