Is there a way to turn on\off the visual effects of weapons, similar to the warlock command?

I have two weapons that have the 'sonic' visual animation, and it's very distracting to the point that I don't even want to use them
I'd love the ability to 'turn them off' so they just just look normal. I tried changing them using the 'visual appearance tool', but that just changes the weapon picture but no way to turn the vfx off
