Temporary Level Drain at Will

Would it be possible to add a feat where you can 'Toggle on' to voluntarily "Level Drain" yourself to match another player, then when you use the same feat again, it removes it? It would be really nice to be able to 'delevel' temporarily to join parties with new players and go on adventures so they get experience. I was thinking like instead of actually changing the character sheet which sounds messy and scary, it could just casts the 'level drain' spell on you, but also adjust for experience. To help accommodate for feats and gear, maybe it could be an additional -3 levels to that player as well.

I'm sure most would just say "Just make an alt character" if you want to play with low levels. I'm one of those weird ones that still plays the same character since 2009 with really no alternative characters  . I'm probably a unique situation in that sense, but I just can't seem to get into playing a different character. I think it would also eliminate that weirdness of just magically 'switching' characters to go on an adventure with no RP build up, since that was already done with the primary character.

Anyways, just a thought that popped into my mind as last night there were very few people on, so I teamed up with a lower level character to go to the Cloakwood mines. I stayed out of the party and out of combat but basically followed them around like I was part of the team. One thing that did work though is I had weapons that have the property of "no damage" so at least it looked like I was fighting!

Thanks!

I believe the mechanical penalties that prevented players with level discrepancies from being in the same party has already been removed, and was done so a few months ago.

Currently up to six characters of any level can be in a party and still gain maximum xp, though this may or may not require doing the content suited to the highest level character (clarification on that may be required). Having more than six people in the party is still penalized, however.

Last I heard I think this is the case. I have not tested, but I made the assumption that as a level 30, If I partied with the Level 8 last night to help them in the Cloakwoods, then they would get no experience. If I took that level 8 to the Frost Keep, then they probably would (but it would be dreadfully boring for them, and they'd likely die immediately)

I'll have to try it out and see how it goes as maybe my assumption is wrong, and I can be in a low level hunting party without destroying their experience. I'd still use my 'no-damage' daggers as it would be no fun to just annihilate everything.... but at least I can be part of the 'team'

Thank you!
