Baldur's Gate is a long way from the Chondalwood, but it offers everything a young hafling bard would want; a strong supportive hafling community, a thriving economy, rich culture, respected theatres and above all, intrigue. Madison's journey to Baldur's Gate was relatively calm for the Caravan Master had hired Finner's Finest as scout and escort for the wagon train full of rich trade goods and the hoping to get rich immigrating to the big cities. Madison kept her arrival fairly low key and decided to take a room at The Friendly Arm Inn, a popular gathering place for adventurer's and the like not far from the city's gates.
Madison, with her friendly and optimistic personality as well as her natural good looks and time-honed skills was quick to make friends and contacts. She decided that she would learn as much lore as she could about the surrounding areas and personalities that loomed large in the minds of the people. She kept her performances small, only playing in taverns when the mood hit her or she was strapped for coin; supplementing her income by questing for the many various businesses and individuals who would regularly hand out such work. Now with a solid reputation and a decent set of contacts in place she planned to audition for a chance to headline a show at the Famous White Mask Theatre, but any old performance wouldn't do so she began the long tedious job of designing and creating several costumes and arranging music for what she hoped would be a show the folks of Balder's Gate would remember for a long time and that they would attest to the fact that Madison MonVox truly is Marvelous.
