Rowina Millows

Unread post by Sen »

From the diary of Rowina Millows, Cleric of Torm, Year of the Morning Star 1350 DR:

The wounds that the sudden death of Master Kolden has left on me are still fresh, least they will anytime soon be forgotten or healed. With him, I feel with unsepakable grief, a part my home, the Citadel of the Rampant Eagle, has died. His words were filled with wisdom, yet I also remember how strange he could sound sometimes, and I know many suspected that he would not simply dream up some of his parables he used to teach us pupils, but that he was gifted with visions by Torm Himself. They used to get more and more disconserting and cruel over the time; one particular instantly sprang to my mind when I heard of Kolden´s demise, and to be honest, I think that I never was able to truly forget it. It began like this:

"... but the greatest of His many true servants knew Their King, who had risen from their very midst, and they were forged into His loyal sword and shield against all the forsaken kings who had deceived and devoured in the names of their wicked demons. The obedient sword striked down dethroned kings and their false servants without difference..."

"... As the field drank the blood of thousands and the quest was nearly fulfilled, He turned to face the demon from within Himself, the one which He had created. He swung the sword around and there was a cry of terror among the minions of evil, and He stopped the blade and pointed It at His own bleeding heart..."

From this point on I can hardly remember the details, but I do know that the King sacrificed himself after being comforted by a vision of Torm in order to destroy the evil growing inside of him, and suceeded, creating an ever-lasting paradise.

The Citadel has become more chilly and narrow ever since I´ve left. Nevertheless, I truly wish to call it my home once again. I shall get used to it soon.
