Rumors of Amn

Rumors rise out of Amn as Baldurian Emissaries confirm to those who need to know, so naturally everyone soon becomes aware.

Red wizards of Thay have obtained title for an enclave in the upper thresholds of Amn. Construction is likely to take place in tandem with the last touches to the city of Nashkel.

The Thayans, in a gesture of civility, have offered their aid in "sprucing up" the city.

Rumors out of the N.T.E., the trade company that has funded the town's resurrection and aims to clear the iron mine, seem cautious and modestly begrudging.

Bhaalist are being blamed for the attack. Some say the that Amn was giving Fist's right to guard Nashkel and thats why they were there, Some say it was an attack staged by the fist, others just think the fist were at the right place at the right time

The fist patrol had wondered too far south. Was it that they were plagued by unseen foes that pressed them to their position or something else?

In either case, the fist were assaulted by assassins, taking wounds and casualties in a fight of attrition and guerrilla tactics. Help came in the form of Joan Degaulle, Selah Shartess, Nicha, Sonja Willow, John Roland.
The assassins soon found themselves turned to statues and dismantled quickly after, with much praise going along after about the magery.

The N.T.E. headmistress reminded the fist that they were beyond their legal bounds, but in light of their aid they were welcomed to return as civilians to enjoy a free ale. One fist officer took up the offer immediately. It is said later that the Headmistress-Ambassador later exchanged reports with the captains of the fist.

It is also said the Headmistress spent time detailing the events with Amnian authorities.

As the sun illuminates the velkin on a beautiful and tranquil morning, a caravan can be seen descending from the majestic Cloud Peak mountains and making its way into Nashkel. The people from the caravan are wearing exotic clothes and armors not traditional to the Sword Coast.

A few who brave the peaks return with word: Icehauptannarthanyx has returned. An ancient white wyrm of great power long absent, the return of this enormous beast has set the mountains themselves to trembling.

An ornately dressed man can be seen strolling the town of Nashkel every now and then. He is in the autumn of his life and appears frail of body, but he is agile and carries himself with pride and dignity. He has a calm and pleasant demeanour about him and he small-talks with many of the citizens, showing them magical trinkets and exotic artifacts. He is always accompanied by heavily armed bodyguards.

More foreign-looking people make their way to Nashkel. Some of them wealthy, merhants and nobles no doubt, but the the vast majority workers and craftsmen of different types. Engineers are taking measurements everywhere and construction sites are starting to sprout everywhere.

Something is up in the fair town of Nashkel...

Those of the N.T.E watch on with chagrin etched upon their features. They don't take much time to watch however, getting on with their own duties and business; notably their attention in patrols and scouting about the Nashkel Iron Mine.

A female wild elf's body is left spiked on the gate of Nashkel with a warning:

Amn has no tolerance for demons or those who summon them.

Mages ye be warned.

A hooded figure is seen and heard asking various commoners around the small town of Nashkel and surrounding area about any information relating to a mage with a blue Neverwinter tunic (ooc: Vauk) that has recently gone missing and was last seen in the Nashkel area.

When asked as to the reason of the inquiry by more curious commoners, the hooded one just shrugs and moves on to asking the next person he can find.

A high priest of Helm centers himself in front of the temple in Nashkel with his Helmite clergy and proclaims:

Hear ye, hear ye!

Let it forthwith be known that the followers of Helm the Vigilant are building a temple here on this location to honour Helm's glory and splendour! Let the word spread across these lands that we are seeking more Helmites to aid us in this sacred cause! Come forth and unite here, and we shall endeavour to glorify and immortalize Helm with a structure so grand that it is worthy of a God!

// There will be a grand temple to Helm located in Nashkel soon, so this could be a good oppertinity for Helmites to unite, get active here and maybe get a little extra purpose too ;)

More religious people make their way to Nashkel with an ensemble of Kossuthian followers arriving just the other day. The more eagle-eyed and knowledgeable spectators can tell that they are probably all Burning Braziers, except one who might be a Tendril of the Flame. They gather at a large construction site in the western side of the town... something is afoot.

A rather tall, broad-shouldered elf archer is seen about Nashkel talking with various Amnian guards and Cameron the smith. What may not be seen is his sharing with them fine elven-distilled whiskey and what is not heard is him asking about the construction on the west side of town and the various comings and goings of Red Wizards.

Those who see him, especially those who know him, would notice a distinct lack of cheer and an uncharacteristic somber demeanor while he goes about this.

With a half-bottle of Siomir's finest left, he retires to Doron Amar, sits in his favorite spot above the waterfall and writes his findings in a notebook while draining the bottle, getting plastered drunk.

The construction and fortification of Nashkel continiues with never decreasing intensity and effectiveness, and a new city is starting to rise from that which was little more than rubble; a city once destroyed by giants, now rebuild by the combined efforts of the people on the Sword Coast.
