Rhicora says: Good question, Borton! Let's sticky this thread and answer it!

Player Factions
Traditional Lolthite Drow often find themselves at House Mori'hyanda, one of the final bastions of the Spider Queen in openly secular Sshamath. The threats of the Maelthra and other Houses often put them at odds with the other factions. They are led by Ilharess Briz'uit Mori'hyanda.
The rising alternative for Lolthites has been House Sshamath. While the founding house of the city has been reduced to only a husk of its former glory by the wizards, the ambitions of these Lolth-loyal drow die hard. They follow Ilharess Laelstra Sshamath.
All kinds of adventurers band together to form Bregan D'aerthe, a mercenary group of mixed faith originally hailing from Menzoberranzan. The D'aerthe's latest sources of income have come from mercantile pursuits and - while it remains unspoken - assassination. Rumors might tell of a bard named Dhaunin who holds a place at the top of the local hierarchy.
The highly disciplined private police arm of the Conclave is known as the Charnag Maelthra. When the Sshamath Guard is not enough, the Maelthra ensure that affairs in the city remain relatively stable. Only males may join, as a measure against infiltration by the Lolthites. For information and openings, promising recruits are encouraged to contact S'utrinos Cel'lith Morcane or one of his agents.
Those wizards who choose to study the darker arcana often join the School of Necromancy. Under the command of Master Tsabrak, the school has maintained careful ties to the Maelthra and spies within other groups. Many of the day-to-day operations are handled by High Necromancer Amon Arch'ehius.

I was thinking of starting a cult of Ghaunadaur but I'm not sure if people would be interested

now there's an interesting idea!
in all my online rp drow-life i have never seen a player cult of ghaunadar, but damn those RP possibilities are endless.
Ghaunadaurians are the WORST drow you'll ever encounter, i mean zero redeeming features whatsoever, universally loathed and hence entirely entertaining to RP im sure.

Yea I'm the only Ghaunadaur worshiper I've seen while playing here and I can understand why since finding good information on him was somewhat of a challenge for me lol and I had one hell of a time finding info on Llurth Dreier that was more than a sentence or two.

Not necessarily, both the school of elemental magic and the school of mages are not exactly active, yet I do RP being a member of the latter because I am level 10 and even found a high level PC RPing a teacher at the school who admitted my wizard.
I suppose you can either try to find one other person interested in the elemental school OR just RP that you are member (considering you have 2-3 levels or whatever seems reasonable to you). If you reach higher levels you could RP being a tutor/well known member and recruit people.

Anyone who wants to set themselves up as a member of a school please let me know and I will be happy to help you with anything you need or offer advise on RP possibilities.
I haven't done it yet as it takes time, but if any of you would like to establish an ordered ranking system for that particular school feel free to send me your ideas. I have set up one for the School of Necromancy, I admit still needs some work, if you would like a template or example to look at.
The way schools structure themselves internally does not need be the same, and more than likely would not be the same, for every school.

As well as a member of Charnag Maelthra. I have decided to create IG "credentials" for such personnel who have their allegiances to the Secret Police of Sshamath.
Since many of the original Charnag players are not active or have moved on. There will be a restructuring.

The last 2 posts are quite interesting... I would like to make it clear though, who am I supposed to contact regarding the school of mages, mar3usmc or Void?
