Unread post by Braithwaite »

Born at upon the Sea of Swords to a shrewd Merchant Captain of the Sword Coast. . .Bosch had a pair of Sea Legs from the moment he took his first steps upon his father's ship The Golden Tide. The smell of the salty spray upon the wind and the spicey whiff of rum always warmed his heart, though he was only allowed a sip when he could sneak some from the his father near empy mug upon passing out. His mother kept him ashore as much as she could for she new the countless dangers that were to lay before him when ever his father took him upon the seas.

His father told him of the many adventures he had lived and riches he beheld in his days shipping riches from the Great Ports of Faerun. "The Sea is the giver and taker of lives son, best you learn this now then be wandering this life with no sence of your Wits! But if ever you are upon dry land. . .be sure your skills remain ever ready to be called upon for Umberlee will have not sway to the currants of events you will encounter there." Wise words were never more spoken and Bosch took them to heart.

His father was sure to instruct him in the ways of wielding the lighter blades, for they were quick and deft in the proper hands, especialy the Rapier and dagger...a leathal combination. Among the many clever skills to master. . .was that of sly verble wit. Watching his father haggle and appraise his shipments and rare finds brought a keen eye for the plunder he saw in his dreams. He would observe his father's face and tone of voice when handling business. Knowing that he was quite an asset to his father, with is boyish grin and sparkling blue eyes. Disarming even the most rough and tumble Sea Dogs with a well timed laugh at a joke or inquisitive complement of fashion.

Once he was of the age of seventeen, he had impressed his father so much that he was given a Half Share of the the commissions he could arrange and was on his way to save for his own ship to sail upon the seas one day. After tens years of sailing with his father. . .Bosch had saved enough coin and treasure to purchase his first boat, The Becon'n Siren, A Captain of his own destiny. . .Bosch set sail to many strange lands. He sailed the many seas of Faerun, having countless adventures. But is was his arrival at the Port of Baldur's Gate where he found himself stranded. . .his ship in disrepair and in need of a new crew and a new fortune to either fix his Sloop or wager for another grander ship. . .Perhaps a Raker or even a Mighty Galleon!

As he get his Sloop "The Becon'n Siren is loaded carefully into the dry dock in the Port Harbor of Baldur's Gate . . .He ponders to himself. . ."How am I evah go'n tah affort ta have dis Sloop ship shape n'time?" Shaking his head and tapping his boot in nervous thought, he wanders out of the Harbor and deeper into the city of Baldur's Gate. Finally he hears the music and joyful laughter eminating from Elf Song Tavern and decides to see what local fan fare there is to offer this Sea Dog from Velen.
"Excuse me Sir, Is this going to be a stand up fight or a Bug Hunt?"
