"Stealing" monsters
Does the griefing rule encompass "kill stealing"? If one character is already fighting a monster, and it's clear that they can handle it, is it acceptable for someone else to join the fight with the purpose of dealing the killing blow and stealing the experience?

Accidents happen, but if it continually happens to you by the same person take a screen shot and send it to the DM staff. Contact a DM IG.
If there is a player being a douche we would be more than happy to take care of it.

Re: "Stealing" monsters
If you are engaging monsters with ranged weapons or spells expect that to happen.
It is an easy mistake. Sometimes players join in because of distraction, or they happen to see you are badly wounded or some such, and feel compelled to help.

I just want to point out that there is a HUGE difference between a player killing a creature you are fighting and grief killing, Grief Killing is Repeatedly doing that for the sole purpose to Grief the other player.
Accidents happen, I have seen player "near death" and when another player kill there creature they get all pissed and call them XP Stealer. GUESS what thats not griefing or XP Stealing.

Re: "Stealing" monsters
I had it happen to me just yesterday. I was standing there watching someone kill an orc and the orc inexplicably switched targets to shoot me. The AI of course returned fire and killed him. I felt kinda bad after that poor warlock stood there blasting him for 10 minutes before finally beating him down to near dead and then losing him.
So yeah, mistakes do happen. It's the guys who follow you around and keep doing it that deserve a good smiting.
