Every thing came full on at once. Boldness in his attacks had made Cody on edge. He was becoming over confident picking fights with all the wrong people. This time it was Trent who had Cody brought up on charges of disorderly conduct and assault. Despite what those around Cody said arresting officer Kane was determined to bring him in.
Justin's words rang through Cody mind, to him there was only two ways he would leave the conflict. Free or a dead man. Feigning surrender he was able to get Kane to put down his weapon and get in close to attempt to place the shackles on. It was then Cody struck at the man, catching him off guard with a blind side fist.
It was at this point Wthyran jumped into the fray tackling Cody to the floor. Elf was pulling his punches, Cody didn't under stand why. Using the opening he slid the elf off him and raised his feet to push Kane who was planning to jump on him out of the air. Rolling into a squatting he watched as two Fist halberd men had come to help Kane.
Pulling his hidden Kukri blade from his gauntlet Cody ignored Wthyran, went straight for Kane. Side stepping out of the way of one of the halberd strikes then parrying the other he planned to kill Kane on the spot. Kane was foolish enough to still not arm him self, Cody was confident in his ability to take all three Fist patrolmen at once.
One the halberd men called out for help from any magic users in the crowd. Kukri blade stopped inches from Kane chest, a mass of spells hit Cody all at once. Struggling against the spells he called on help from his tiger spirit, breaking through many of the spells through pure brute strength. Screaming at the top of his lungs he could his spirit returning his enraged howl.
A second barrage of spells reinforced the first spells restraining Cody. Like a wild animal he thrashed against his restraints. Fist did not waste any time shackling his hands and feet together. Chains creeked under his strength as he started to over power the second round of spells.
Spells quickly wore him out and he could feel tiger spirit strength unable to remain inside his body. Gasping for air he stood before the three Fist still determined to fight. One of the halberd men tried to slap the weapon out Cody hands with his halberd. Cody refused to let his weapon go falling into the mud in pain under the impact of the blow.
Kneeling down in the mud he could see his tiger spirit was ready to grant him strength again. It howled to him for blood, Cody already knew further fighting would be pointless. Even if he could manage to kill one or two of the Fist mages would just bind him again in spells. Fist would chain him to the point he would not be able to move at all.
Idea of being chained to the Fist dungeon again filled Cody with dread. Thought of Axle being given full reign over him again. He would be tortured for days on end, Fist arresting him would not grant him a merciful death on the spot. Glancing down at the kukri he would never give Axle the satisfaction, ignoring all out side noises he drove the blade into his face.
Searing pain burrowed into his face, before just as suddenly passing. Cody body slumped into the mud life less...

Re: Ballad of Cody O' lamaturtle
She had originally been little more then a tool. An out cast he felt he could use for his own goals. Nela had a sense of good in her still, some thing Cody had slowly been losing. She questioned his methods, and he believed she was naive in return. If it wasn't for the taint of evil he might of even let him self trust her.
It was Nela who would now save Cody. Resurrecting him in the tomb they blended in with the mass crowd upstairs before vanishing into the streets. Nela actions would be the least surprising thing to happy to Cody.

Re: Ballad of Cody O' lamaturtle
Avoiding death with Nela help did little to make Cody more cautious, it fueled his rage even more. Next time he died he knew he wouldn't be coming bacl. So he planned to take down as many Fist with him as he could. Information he had gotten on Axle had lead him to believe he would be going on a final suicide mission.
Axle was rumored to be inside the main Flaming Fist Barracks. Only way Cody could get near Axle would be to go into the Flaming Fist barracks. Cody planned to kill a Fist officer steal their armor then try to sneak in. It wasn't a good plan, but it relied on luck which was good enough for Cody.
That was the plan until he ran into Myhun. Myhun was one of the people Cody remembered being at his torture. He had walked into Cody cell with food chewing casually. Since that day every time Cody saw Myhun his only thought was on making him choke on his mustache. Just seeing Myhun filled Cody with maddening rage he couldn't help but stare at the man.
Myhun noticed Cody stare and investigated who the man was. After finding out it was Cody, Myhun used his magic to try to sub due him. Locking Cody in a hallucination, then shackled him. Once the hallucination wore off Cody broke his through his chains. With Myhun response turning him to stone.
Waking up in a Fist prison a rope was wrapped around Cody. Small group of Fist Soldiers holding each side with Myhun in front of him. To Cody surprise he wasn't going to be tortured, instead Myhun had wanted to talk to him....

Re: Ballad of Cody O' lamaturtle
Conversation with Myhun only took them in circles. As long as Cody lived he would hunt Axle no matter where he was. It seemed not all the Fist were as ruthless as Cody had believed. Myhun didn't seem to approve of Axle either, an agreed to help Cody. In exchange Cody agreed to stop hunting down members of the Fist an provide info to them instead.
Cody didn't really care what Myhun had to say, he would of agreed to any thing. Just as long as he could watch Axle die. Released from prison he kept a low profile while he waited for Myhun to honor his end of the agreement.
When the time came Cody was instructed to get a row boat and make his way out to a ship docked at sea. Not trusting Myhun slightly Cody had left instructions with a local assassin to kill Myhun should Cody not talk to him after the next full moon. As Cody rowed his way out to sea he anxiously waited for the Myhun to betray him. Even as he climbed up the side of the ship onto the deck.
Ship deck was abandoned only Myhun was standing there waiting. Axle was tied to the maste bound and gagged. How Myhun had managed to set this up gave Cody brief pause. He didn't forget he was going to kill Axle an walked onto the deck of the ship to confront the man. Allowing luck to choose how fast Axle would die Cody rolled a dice to see how many throwing axes he would throw at the man before he died.
Luck as on Axle side as Cody would only throw one axe. It didn't make it any less painful as Cody choose one of his favored magic axes imbued with thunder. It sent jolts through Axle body as he bleed out onto the deck, maste shook under the release of magical energy.
With the act done, Cody used a disintergration scroll to get rid of the corpse. As Axle dust flew into the sea, Cody felt a little less angry. Returning to the temple of Tymora shortly after Cody had to think events over and call off his assassin. With Axle dead, it was one less person he could remove from his revenge list.

Re: Ballad of Cody O' lamaturtle
Adjusting to life in the city was difficult for Cody. Every one wore hollow smiles, but they didn't care about what happened to those around them. He had grown fed up with the members of the Radiant Order, they seemed content just ignoring the problems around them. Fist seemed to be falling back into old habits quickly.
Watching from the shadows, Cody observed those around him. Talking had fallen on deaf ears, he was prepared to take the law into his own hands. Roaming the lands on his own, he spent more time down by the docks and forests. No matter how much good he tried to do, he still felt angry at the end of the day. A single idea constantly ate away at him, kill Justin Crownsilver. Myhun words that Justin was not the same man Cody knew before kept the obsession in check.
Just like Axle, Cody believed it was only a matter of time before Justin relapsed into old ways. When that time came, Cody would bring Justin to justice for his crimes.

Re: Ballad of Cody O' lamaturtle
Chilly night in west harbor, in a run down room, in my favorite part of town. Looking into the window twisted disfigured reflection glaring back at me. Shiver runs up my spine as I touch my face, whisper softly to my self that I'm not a monster. Gorge my self on the cheap gin to make the lies go down easier until only my self remains in the window.
Motsy behind me stirs in the bed, asks me who I'm talking to before going back to sleep. It was only a few moons ago she wouldn't even come near me. Can't say I blamed her given how I looked like a gnoll chew toy. Threw couple coins around an she was suddenly sweet on me.
New found wealth was courtesy of Memori. Warlock type, seemed to be plotting some thing big. He had the two important things that mattered gold, an a common enemy list. Give him two moons before he gets him self killed.
In the mean time gonna live it up, an do the job he paid me for....

Re: Ballad of Cody O' lamaturtle
Droplets of salt water light splashed across my face, I gazed out into the sea. Bottomless blue always gave me the butterflies, if you got into trouble there was no where to go. Behemoth of a ship was anchored in port, gently rocking in place. Hellan was written in worn black ink against the hull, a wooden mermaid gazed off the bow. Scrawny, sun burnt captain gave me free passage to pay off his debt to me. I was always lucky when it came to cards.
Approaching the ships ramp the Captain patted me on the back his grin was reassuring. Never did learn the old bastards real name, just been calling him Captain. There was only one final act before I boarded the ship, had to flip my coin.
I flipped a piece of coin in the air and asked Tymora if I should return to Baldur Gate. Catching the coin I clenched it tightly in my hand and walked up the ramp. Crew was a mix match of races, height, age, every one looked as interesting as the last. Think I even saw a guy with a parrot and woman with a monkey. Settling down on the deck I watched until Baldur Gate was out of sight.
Opening my hand I looked down at the result. It made me chuckle faintly before I gave it to a near by loblolly boy cleaning up some vomit. His dirt stained face looked at me shrewdly as he took it, then promptly went back to work. I had a good feeling I was going to be real lucky on this trip.
