Any chance to have improved disarm feat as ruled by 3.5 edition and get weapon stolen instead of destroyed?
Otherwise what is the interest to have disarm and improved disarm?

no it is not gonna go back, disarm and imp disarm were changed to NOT steal the weapons
pvm - weapon destroyed
pvp - weapon unequipped and dropped back into the owner's inventory

Improved does not provoke attacks of opportunity.
Though AoO's often don't get provoked at all when standing still. You've probably noticed this with gnolls and lizard shamans who sometimes cause AoO's while casting and sometimes don't. You have to "jiggle" you location a little to get them to work properly usually.
Something to do with terrain mapping or <insert random techno babble> with enemies.
Not usually worth the feat for the unreliable improvement as the second change (where the weapon ends up) doesn't usually come into it.
