I was browsing through maps the other day when I came across Yartor. A fortified city, and member of the Lord's Alliance. In our current timeline, is this city ruled by Belleethe Kheldorna? Or is it still Alahar Khaumfros?
I forget exactly what year we are supposed to be in but I think we are still early. Baron Alahar Khaumfros of Yartar was (will not be) killed by a quartet of illithids in (until) 1366, the Year of the Staff.

The current year is 1346 D.R.

CrispyWalrus is correct in stating that Alahar Khaumfros is the current Waterbaron of Yartar. He is also very newly elected -- he would have been elected to the office of Waterbaron this year, actually.

I'm having some trouble trying to find a hometown for my newest character John Buckturner.... I need to find an area in Faerun, preferably not too far from Baldur's Gate and the surrounding area that is really big on farming and ranching with little to no magic and elves.... I cant quite find anything...

That's a tall order to fill: a relatively close farming and ranching village with little magic and no elves?

I think that you might like to take a look at Red Larch:

It is the only town that I can think of that fills most of your needs. Unfortunately, it is not completely devoid of magic (The Helm at Highsun tavern is actually run by a wizard, Yather Indaglol), but its cattle market "attracts buyers from all over the North, and all down the Sword Coast."

I'd like to know where I can find more information concerning house Jaelre. I can find nothing beyond what's in the campaign book which isn't much. For example, where is House Jaelre located during this time period? Are they on their way to the surface or have they already established themselves there? If so, how long have they been there? What city are they originally from? Any other information concerning this house would be most helpful.

At what rate do elves mature physically. Specifically, at what age would they be the equivalent of a 16 year old human?

Is the Priestess that is present in the left over shrine of Lolth within the city considered the Ulath'tallar?

That's not a question with a simple answer, yes she is, but she's by no means an Ulath'tallar as priests from other cities would recognise one. Sshamath is a city of mages, and she is "barely tollerated". While she has a voice in the concalve, but not a loud one.

House Jaelre are at the moment in Menzoberranzan fighting house Baenre, anyone from this house who isn't in Menzo is thus either an outcast or a runaway who will not have any support. House Jaelre are "all hands on deck" to try and beat the Lolthites for control of Menzo.

Elves mature physicaly at the same rate as humans, but mentaly, they slow right down when humans hit puberty. My own PC is 94 ish, so he is roughly equivalent to a human of age 16 or 17, that said, Elves have a noticably different mindset to humans, and this varies with their sub race. As a rule, elves are more emotionaly stable then humans and socialy, elves don't tend to "act out" to the same degree humans do.

Maecius has put up some very informative stuff here.. http://www.bgtscc.net/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=6859

Which I suggest you read.

You got it worng Thalissar. An elf of 110 should be like a human of age 15. At least that's what I see everywhere.

If to consider that maturity comes in 140 years and drow grow faster...I think it is quite okay.

Elven ages are all over the place depending on source. It gets worse if you throw drow into the mix - some sources state they achieve maturity by 40 due to increased societal pressures.

I'll pull up the FRCS later, which should be considered the authority here. For simplicity's sake, I'd treat drow as elves when doing the age thing, because a forty year old elf seems patently silly.

If you think that humans hit puberty at varying stages, you should see that this is mirrored, albeit over a longer period of time for Elves, this period however is generaly from about 85 onwards, 110 is a bit on the late side. The next milestone is 200, which is roughly equivlanet to 18. Then 250, which is about 21.

As a rule of thumb, individual elves are likely to show a greater diversity between sub racial groupings that between peers, so for example Wood Elves mature slightly faster than Sun Elves.

Heya. I'm sure there is an answer to this, so I'm not trying to pose a rhetorical question here, but why are Druids not allowed to wear metal armor? Is that even part of lore? To me it just seems like a shallow and hasty generalization made like "oh druids shouldn't wear metal cuz its bad and smoke industrialzor pollution nom nom nom". I mean, Druids have automatic access to the Sickle weapon and the Scimitar weapon, both of which can be constructed of nothing other than metal. Metals are very natural things anyway... it is the stuff of the earth, after all. And I don't see why the refinement of ore or the concoction of alloys is at all mutually exclusive with the practice of the Druidic. The making of metal armor is no different than the making of leather, yeah? They both involve natural materials that undergo constructive changes through the works of men. What is it that makes metal in to armor? Heat and more metal right? Well Druids cast Flame Strike and Crumble? Fire Storm and Earthquake? Inferno and Stonehold? The earth is made of metal and armor is forged from the earth by the earth. And woulodn't all of the same processes be necessary to forge armor from metal as to forge armor from say... Dragon scales? To my knowledge, some kinds of dragons even have scales that are essentially metal. So uh... yeah. That is why I don't like the idea of Druids not being allowed to wear metal armor.
