2. You're at a faire with your significant other, they notice a stand where several dock rats are throwing balls to try and knock a wooden dragons egg of a pedestal. You...
a) Ask your other half to lend you a copper so you can have a go.
b) Approach the stall and give a bit of on-the-spot coaching to the youngsters who would otherwise never be able to hit the mark with their rubbish technique.
c) Skillfully toss a stone over their shoulders without anyone noticing so the egg falls and they win a prize.
d) Decide that you realy are too old for this crap.

a) Which is more than you can say for most thing.
b) But... you're a terrible liar.
c) This recent weather is utterly incomprehensable.

One campaign draws to a close, it's been a wild ride, I've lost count of how many individuals have had an influence on it, but my sincerest thanks to all involved. It wouldn't have been the same without you.
With horizons clear I'm going to push ahead with my next one, I'm going to need a couple of weeks to re-write it owing to some recent changes in the player population, but I do plan to run some ground-work stuff in the meantime and possibly even some one-shots (shock horror).

A word on "esotericness" and "poigniancy".
A complex character, does not mean a character with fifty class/race templates. A half-drow, half-orgre, undead, draconic, awakened golem, half-celestial, is not in and of itself complex, it's freakshow.
A complex character is one that "feels" real when you talk to them. Some of the best characters I've seen have been simple human-basic templates with realtively basic backstories but with a highly engaging player working his ass off behind the keyboard to make them sound and feel as real as possible.
I am loathed to single anyone out, but if no one here has ever RP'ed with Randall, you've missed out. A highly complex character with arguably one of the most simple premises out there. An abrasive, womanising, bastard. And yet he remains a highly complex and engaging character with plenty of depth and room to grow.
You are of course, free to construct any kind of crazyness you like, so long as it's not "too crazy" but remember, the harder is it for you to "fit in" to a campaign, the harder it is for me to write for you.
Consider your character and how they fit into the world of Toril, what they've done, who they are, and where they want to be. Try to find common ground somewhere and give me a few general hooks.
If you've never left the Ivory Towers of some little-known mage school untill yesterday... that.. dosen't give me anything to work with.
Again, thanks to everyone who's sent anything in, I'm a little snowed under trying to re-write my most recent campaign thanks to a shakeup in our player line up. So, keep sending stuff in and I'll try to get back to you ASAP.

Let me reiterate an important point.
Role play your stats.
This is important because people take the trouble to underpower themselves, because they want to RP. If you min max yourself out, you've made a conscious decision not to do this, that means you have a responsability, as a sportsman, not to unfairly claim benefits from the stats you've "dumped".
It is unfair on those who have constructed a ballanced character for someone to stick 8's (or even 6's) in mental stats and then ignore them with RPing their character.
I'm not saying don't take an 8 (I actualy have an 8 on my own PC), but if you do take one, you must, role play it.
If I catch people doing this, I will be a sad panda.
