I would put a date here, but I have absolutely no clue what it is. Quite silly of me, I know.
Today was my coming-of-age ceremony, though only within my own four-person family. Father and Mother both worked very hard to prepare the perfect day for me. They had my favorite food laid out on the table, like a banquet! Father's spicy hot potato and beef stew, mother's berry salad, and even with some imported Neverwinter Mead! This was the first time in years that they had splurged so, and I imagine that it sent them back quite a few gold pieces! I think Fuzzy enjoyed the food, except for the spicy stew. (Fuzzy is our wolf)
After the first half of the day which we spent being merry, eating and drinking to our heart's content, the real party began. We had long known that there was a small ragtag bunch of kobolds raiding small groups of travelers. While they hadn't seriously harmed anyone in the month or so that they had been around, they had more recently become more vicious. My parents presented to me a sword, my very own! Father had crafted it with a style that he had only spoken of in stories and tales. It is a beautiful thing indeed! Though it is a little big for me to use in one hand.
After they presented the sword to me, they told me to accompany them in dealing with the kobold bandits. I wholeheartedly agreed and followed them to a cave only a mile or two away from our own.
We dealt with them easily, and returned home to more rejoicing. I didn't rejoice quite as loudly after having a small kobold bash me in the arm with a club. Only a bruise now though.
I long knew that I would eventually leave my home and parents behind, and tomorrow is finally that day. I feel oddly exhilirated and afraid at the same time. But now i'm here in bed, wondering what new adventures await me when I leave!

Still no date, as I still have no idea what day it is.
Today is my third day alone after setting off from home. Quite an exhilirating experience actually. Father gave me some of his old leather armor to wear, which fit perfectly somehow. I think Mother had tailored it to my measurements, but when I asked them about it, they both shrugged and said "Beats me" at the same time. I could tell they were trying not to grin like fools.
I was never known for my cooking, but Father's stew is still good even when I heat it back up. He gave me a large flask of it, as well as a canteen of Neverwinter Mead. Mother provided me with enough berries to fill half my pack, though i go through them fairly quickly.
I've stopped to make camp only a little ways off from Silverymoon. I can see the city walls, but the moon is already high in the sky. I figure that i'll have a better chance of finding a baker or other food in the morning.
The wind is fresh and crisp, though not too cold. I was thinking of starting a campfire, but i'll just climb into this tree i'm leaning against and sleep up there.

I've finally made it to Baldur's Gate! Took a few days of detour, but i'm glad that i'm here. Sam should be here by this point, and i'll be glad to finally have a traveling companion once more. The city is like any other human city to me, lots of stone here, a little wood there.
I've gotten a few odd looks from the citizens, as well as some from the patrons of the Elfsong tavern. Speaking of the elf's song, it is quite beautiful. Being a romantic has it's downsides, but being able to truly enjoy and appreciate this is not one of them. I got a room for the night, though if it takes any longer than that for Sam to appear i'll likely leave the city and camp just outside it, like I did those years ago outside of Silverymoon.
I've accrued a decent enough amount of gold from my work as a mercenary to refurbish my sword, and to purchase a suit of chainmail armor. My pack has also worn out, so I purchased a new one as well. This one seems to be...magical? The blacksmith said that it would make me heartier, and indeed I feel that what he said is true, but would someone really sell something like this for less than two hundred gold? Either way, it will make a fine addition to my equipment.
I hope I can find work here. Or, better yet, work outside the city. Since fighting is really all i'm good at, i'll ask around about some potential mercenary jobs.
Also, I really hope that Seirenne doesn't try to find me. While she was very nice and I really did like her, the fact that making her angry or embarassed usually ended up in burns or frostbite for me wasn't working out. I figured it was time to end it. Also, I think the marriage proposal was...crazy. I'd told her dozens of times that I wouldn't ever be at home in a stone city, but she apparently didn't get it.
Well, the moon is halfway up it's ascent, and I still have a city to explore.
