Hargar Hearteater

Unread post by Karond »

Hargar Hearteater is not a pleasant Tanarukk. He is tall, strong, vicious and utterly ugly. Even amongst other Tanarukks, he is not a pleasant sight completely covered in scars and scabs, most of it covered by a black-brownish armour strapped together with pieces of fallen enemies or corpses laying by the wayside. He has large thick black horns on his forehead, and he styles a tattered rag as a cape along with his worn, jagged and rusted twohanded blade.

He has a barely passable intelligence, which is fully occupied with matters of slaughter, food (which can be practically anything) and in a twisted way, divine matters. Hargar is a devout follower of Gruumsh, and believes that the only way to worship him is upon the battlefield, carving paths through the enemies caring little for his own safety. Gruumsh will see him through it, as he always has. Hargar believes particularly strong enemies have a strong divine essence, and by carving out their hearts from still warm flesh and rip it apart with his yellow fangs in a gory feast before consuming them, he grows stronger. Hence his name, Heart-Eater, which he presents himself as. Only to other savage Tanarukks, do he differs himself as Hargar.

Hargar Heart-Eater is born of Sshamath amongst those bought by the conclave to serve their interest. Due to their capacity for overeating and wholesome slaughter amongst the slave populations, quite a few of the younger Tanarukks were let loose in the tunnels left to die or grow strong enough for service. Admidst that ordeal, Hargar survived Umber hulks assaults in the tunnels before meeting an older Tanarukk by the name of Glen Smallaxe. Hargar looks up to this Tanarukk, who is admittedly weaker than him yet much much smarter. Due to this, he has been known to travel under the protection of Glens master Neron, a drow cleric, and his allies.

Hargar and Glen typically meet the enemy first in the warparties, backed up by drow behind them who see a particularly usefulness to the savage temper of the Tanarukk couple, letting them endure the most brutal assaults thrown at them. They are not dead yet, and although Hargar yearns to come back to the slave pits and serve the Conclave, other matters has been brought before him. Recently Glen joined the bloodtribe, and there has been talk of a cunning Tanarukk that serves the drow almost independently. Rather than thinking about the choices before him, or where his loyalty should be, Hargar hearteater is content with knowing that any of them could be a good choice. Gruumshs hand will be the guide, as always...
