As Dallenthel sits at the Elfsong slowly sipping on a glass of wine, word of Ujio's return makes it to his ears...

Thoughts of the past wash over him. This is the man that killed his father. Dallenthel stands suddenly, and walks for the door.

"I must find him....I must know in his words, what happened."

Before leaving Dallenthel speaks with a giggling barmaid..

"If the one known as Ujio comes here, tell him that the Wyndsouls would like to speak with him..."

When word reaches Jonas' ears of Ujio's return, he can be heard saying:

"Well, I suppose I should meet this man soon. After all, I went with Berel into the frozen waste of Cania to rescue his wife, only to come back with the soul gem of this man. Time to find out if the reputation is as bad as I have heard... He had best stay away from my daughter."

Although very busy with his pregnant wife and other duties, the paladin searches for the fabled "ladies man" in his spare time.

There's stir in the taverns as news reach the city. Two soldiers of the Flaming Fist and a civilian were found nearly dead on the road near gnoll temple. All the soldiers were able to tell of the attacker is that he was impersonating a Flaming Fist officer, rumor says.

There's a lot of angry and scared muttering by the bar and, depending on the tavern, more or less noisy toasting at the cornertables.

At the Elfsong Tavern, a group of peasants are discussing one of the latest rumours, "Did ya hear wha' happened a few days back?" The others drew closer and the man continued, "Out on tha' Trade Way a group of Elite Flamin' Fist Solders were forced inta retreat!"
The others gasped and another added, "O', I also 'erd a few trader caravans 'round there were 'ound in a looted wreckage. A survivor wa' jabbern' on 'bout some blue ogre castn' magic, of all things."

------------------

A group of midwives were doing their usual gossiping session on the streets, "Oh, did ya' 'ear what happened to Candlekeep?" Not stopping, the other ladies just looked that much more interested, "Some Fist Officer came in demanding and threatening Lady Villame like a tyrant they say. No' even the Duke would make such demands!" The others gasped and a few looked a little surprised, "O' course she gave him only a morsel of what 'e asked for and she forced 'im to sit outside and wait for it some while, I 'ear!" The other ladies, laughed and continued to discuss this rumour.

Edit:

// For a TLDR: Ogre Activity has increased around the the Tradeway; they are more organised and there has been a few sightings of a giant blue ogre casting magic.

A Liche had taken up in the cave along the Tradeway.

A Heroin warrior, a strangely clad elf priest, a Druid, a Noblewoman rogue and elf ranger extricated the foul beast from the cave. After two attempts the raiding party found the Undead Wizard trying to place himself upon an old throne deep within the cave.
The Adventurers began their attack after defending themselves from bands of roving skeletons and wraiths outside along the Tradeway. They tracked the undead to an old underground dwelling. The cave probably belonged to dwarven miners as there was stone workmanship as well as the remains of residences. The adventurers followed the undead into the cave, quickly engaging them in a series of skirmishes. After being faught back, an Elf Ranger of unusual stature joined the band.
The battle went well for them as they pushed deep within the cave to where the Liche dwelled surrounded by evil Shadows. The final battle quickly went to the adventurers as they looted the remaining heap of rags and skin for a sack of diamonds which the adventurers then divided. The group agreed after a short discussion to warn Candlekeep. They could not be sure if the Liche was alone in his attempt to dominate the goblins of the region and use his minions to claim the lands along the tradeway as his own. It unnerved the group to think that worse may be behind the machinations of this Liche.

Word spreads quickly that the twin children of Jonas Rokranon - Harwin and Doriah - have arrived from Amn. It would seem they had been trapped in the Cloud Peaks due to some rock slides for several months. The main response to their arrival seems to be, "Jonas has children??"

Both seem well mannered and capable, albeit a little naive...

Word spreads very quickly of the great success of the masquerade ball hosted by Lady Bleth of Cormyr. Apparently Lady Bleth heard that the temple of Ilmater does not accept coin donation, and so gave the coin to the temple of Torm. The Tormites worked with the Tyrrans and used the coin on food, clothing, blankets, etc. and donated all these items to the Ilmateri, who were extremely grateful. Rumor has it that Sister Abby was nearly overwhelmed by the goods and that she and Sister Anie went to work straight away organizing and distributing.

When questioned about the exact amount, the Tormites say only that it was a "very generous donation".

A small camp of Amnish soldiers was seen just on the outskirts of Beregost recently. Rumor is that Beregost has permitted them to resupply at the town to aid them in a campaign against the giants. The Dukes of the Gate are aware as well and permit the Amnish to be on their land during the time it takes them to recover Nashkel, the mines, and the roads leading back to Amn.

Already reports come in that there have been several fierce battles East where the Amnish army has engaged the giants at their own camp. One soldier commented to a citizen that all is going well and that the giants are fighting a losing battle. Lieutenant Cornell of the Amnish army indicates they fully expect to oust the giants out of one encampment in the near future. How many more they have to destroy before the land is cleared he did not say.

Meanwhile, wounded soldiers are being tended at the Song of the Morning Temple. Many tongues wag at the news, and people wonder if trade will be safer through the mountain passes soon, or if their hopes will be dashed. Some men also speak of a certain Nashkel Trade Emporium that appears to be aiding in forming the army.

Tongues wag once again in Baldur's Gate, and yet again, the news comes from Beregost.

Citizens of the small town were rather surprised to see several adventurers come into town drenched to the skin. People rarely would go swimming in the nearby river and certainly not with all those goblins about! There had to be something more to it.

Apparently one of them had something to say about what happened for the story is that a drow had been spotted within the abandoned mines nearby, that it had tortured and killed a gnome, and then was killed. The gnome, unfortunately, was beyond resurrection.

Not much more is known at this time...

Dark Rumors Spread

Unread post by madcomposer »

Reports come in from couriers along the Lion's Way, that a contingent of Lathanderite Priests were spotted near a patch of ground just outside Candlekeep. When questioned by travelers, the priests merely respond with the usual spiel, "Nothing to see, kindly pass on."

Strangely enough, the appearance of the priests coincides with a plethora of new rumors, reigniting speculation about the mysterious gems that have been appearing over the past few weeks. Rubies in particular slowly drop in value, as collectors seem reluctant to buy them. Among the peasant population rumors of demonic intervention and hapless travelers rotting away in seconds once more spread along the Sword Coast.

Meanwhile, a lone female ranger is seen wandering the streets of Baldur's Gate with but one question upon her lips, "Where is the temple of Tyr? I must speak with Sir Valek immediately!"

Rumors quickly spread through the Sword Coast region. Taverns of Beregost, Candlekeep and Baldur's Gate all in an explosion of talk about the news of the recent attack. Traders, travelers and merchants alike all with faces and talk of worry and hatred. Apparently the Guild Of Thieves have declared war on the Fist! Not only that but claim to have taken control of the Sword Coast region charging a tax on all travelers they come across of one quarter their carried wealth!

A name was mentioned as the leader of the guild being one so called "Toybox," or as some heard Captain Justin Crowsilver name this "Toybox" as "Rina." Apparently female and stout of size.

Tavern patrons and travelers alike say to be weary of anyone cloaked in hooded black, black clad armor and faces covered to conceal their identity. Many farmers and simplefolk alike are taking up arms when needing to travel the highway and suggest only traveling at daylight. Most however fear it is folly and would not dare the chance encounter with the guild.

A woman overhears rumors of the above at the tavern.

"Good one Beshaba... I should buy you a drink for this mess..." she mutters to herself as she takes a long drink of her ale.

*As a hooded man walks along shadowed streets of Baulder's Gate, he hears folks speak of the rumor regarding the local Thieves guild.*

*Narrowing his eyes as anger starts to rise within his blood, he hugs the shadows tightly. A cold harsh voice escapes his breath as the man tightens his grip on his dagger.*

"Pray that it is not I that sends your poison fill corpse floating under the Chionthar Bridge. Whoever you are that openly speaks that name!"
