DM Blessedone's Events

Unread post by blessedone »

What follows are some simple rules and ideas taken from other DM's on this PW as well as some of my own. The list may evolve over time and my experiences with Digital DMing, so, patience is a virtue with me right now. Oh yeah, check back periodically for updates to Quests and Rules.....

***HOUSE RULES FOR MY EVENTS***

1) First and foremost, please enjoy yourself and have some fun. We as DM's take time to create a playable story for you the players to enjoy. We take pride in seeing the results as a 'memorable' experience for players and know we have done well when they continue talking about it many moons later.......You know, "Remeber when Justin Crownsilver and a few others met with Elmnister and were told that Justin had to carry this durn ring to a Red Dragon to destroy it?" kind of thing...

2)Like being near a swimming pool, if you run, bad things may happen. Please try not to do this. I understand when the Event calls for a 'sense of urgency' and such, but, for the most part. Please refrain from running around like a horde of chickens with your heads cut off.

3)Dice Rolls are something that have their place. Therefore, there is no need to be rolling dice to accomplish something unless asked. Now, if you wish to try something that requires a dice roll, then, by all means send me a tell and we can get you rolling!

4)Have fun......kick back, relax and enjoy......

5)Keep the OOC chatter low please. It destroys the immersion for others and grinds against RP. I understand a pause in the action or RP, so, If you must, please use the noted ((hey there man)) or //what's up like most use.

6)Please...please....please..try to RP. Emotes, talking, something more than hack and slash when the time comes. You may find that you actually enjoy doing it. You may actually find that it is addictive and slowly become an RP genius/guru! What I am saying is, just give it a try while in one of my events.

7)Resting in the middle of an event.....well, please do not do this. If for some reason your PC suddenly falls asleep flat on their face, with no tent and did not even find a good location and decide to get comfy after a major battle with a horde of Goblins right there on the battle field...well...they are prolly gonna' find themselves with more problems than the Goblins they just wore themselves out fighting. I will give a 'hint' as to when it is appropriate to rest, but, the 'rest' (hehe, pun intended) will be up to you........*cough* Watch Duty *cough*

8)Have some freakin' fun you all! We are playing a game!

*****RANDOM ENCOUNTERS*****

**Bandits have been showing face more than usual on the Tradeway. Attacks are increasing and most travelers are taking a stand.......Yet, there has been one who actually raised a couple of the young thugs to give them a second chance...will they see the light? Only time will tell.....

**A hornets nest was stirred about when a foolish adventurer decided to rush forth into the bandit camp that had only one sentry posted up near the fire. Little did that fool know, the alarm was about to be sounded to awake the others. Lucky was that adventurer though, for, two others came to his rescue and while he lay bleeding out on the ground, they took care of the others who stirred. Soon, together they cleared out the remaining thugs from within the tents and camp and found only a scared little kitty who ran for it's life.......lesson learned......

**Strange events blew in one day and the result was an elemental of only weak power. Adventurers gathered near the camp fire of the caravan when they noticed that the fire seemed to be roaring up more than usual even though there was no breeze or winds blowing. It did not take long before they began to poke the fire and soon, it roared up, took shape and suddenly a weak Fire Elemental appeared. It was quickly dispatched, but, the question remains......how and why and will there be other stronger ones soon? Some think it was a Wizard not far away playing pranks and others think it a potral of some sort opened to this plane....either way....it was strange.

**The Cloakwood forest is known for strange and dangerous creatures and even more strange events that take place within it's borders. Three young adventurers found this out while hunting the spiders of that place. A strange voice was heard upon the winds giving warning to those gathered to leave now and live. They did not heed the warning and again they were warned. Suddenly, strange fey attacked the adventurers. These were not the normal pixies and dryads, no, these were a twisted and tainted shell of their former selves. Not long after, the ground shook on the hillside they stood. When the ground gave way, a shape took form and what rose before them was astounding. A shape of dirt and rock took form and attacked them! The voice upon the winds dissapated but left one promise to them all....."We shall once again know freedom...."

**The frequency and intensity of the attacks have slowly increased in the Cloakwood and adventurer's are the target it seems. This 'voice upon the winds' gives them but one warning to flee from their home before an onslaught of a gathering of twisted and tainted Fey attack them to the death! Seems that the normally neutral, forces of nature have had a sudden and most un-natural change of attitude in this forest .....

***Double Trouble....***
Pt. I The Price of Glory....

Rumors spread about a man hunting down petty thieves and criminals in the region. Such debates as to whether he is some Paladin sent by the Church of Tyr, a Mercenary trying to make a name for himself or just a Vigilante gone mad for revenge are all subject matter. Either way, he is making a name for himself and making enemies as well.......and now, more than the good citizens of Baldur's Gate and the Flaming Fist have taken notice.....

***Double Trouble...***
Pt. II Mirror Mirror on the wall......

Derek, the hunter of bandits, seems to have taken the path of a darker kind and rumors abound about this would be Paladin's sudden turn of attitude. It is said that he has been seen flat out killing a petty, unarmed thief who had already surrendered and has been seen attacking adventurers as well........surely the Flaming Fist will take notice to this brave and good citizen's change of heart?
