Changing the rules for humans.
Hmm, i was thinking about possible solutions to everyone who picks elves/other classes over humans...this idea came about.
could you make epic feat requirements 2 attributes less for humans? for example, to get epic 2 weapon fighting, a human would have to max 18 dex, and pump dex every level to get perfect 2 weapon fighting. so this would make it so humans get 2 weapon fighting with 23 dex instead of 25...however this would be stat points, not skill points, haha no early epic spell feats ect.
whereas the same build using tiefling, i can reach the same stats as a human and still retain 9 spare stat points...allowing me to flush out my character.
So other classes still get their bonus stats, but human dont have to worry about maxing stuff.
Its not just about you know, power gaming, you know, you have mental expectations of what your character should be able to perform, having it not add up in game is kinda sad due to something like 2 dex. Theres also the part of being self conscious in group and feeling like you're not pulling your weight.
oh well, just an idea i had, cheers.

I dunno, humans are already the best race without a CL inflation. The bonus Feat and bonus skill point motivate me quite a lot. I make humans also exclusively (though more so because they look the best in armor). And Epic Divine Might could be seriously taken advantage of.

One...I'd say no, Humans get that Extra Feat, +1 Skill points at level and have have Favored Class Any.
Two...I don't even think that is possible, something like feat requirements I am pretty sure are Hard-Coded in and can't be changed. Probably be even worse to make copies that are just for humans.

should all other races then require 1 less skill point and feat for things?

I don't think it's possible Vadenor.
Feats.2da doesn't have options for something like that.

Re: Changing the rules for humans.
New feats could be created as a work around. But I think there are quite a few epic feats with stat based requirements.
Could just give humans a bonus epic feat. Would save a lot of time.

Humans are one of the best races already. Giving them more feats isn't going to induce people to play them... at least, not for the right reasons.

The longer you play on this server, the more you start notice odd trends, one week everyone will be elves, the next there will be way to many orcs. Don't worry about it because am sure a new trend of players will come soon enough.

It's completely true. I remember seeing warlocks everywhere like a month after I initially joined the server. Then Frost Mage's when that class came out. Elven AA's have always been around though.BlueHero45 wrote:The longer you play on this server, the more you start notice odd trends, one week everyone will be elves, the next there will be way to many orcs. I just about only play humans. They are the most versatile race. You can never have enough skill points or feats.

OP's original point was that he feels people are not taking humans because it's too hard to reach ability score targets. An extra epic feat can be spent on ability score feats, thereby making it easier to obtain ridiculous ability score requirements without extreme min / maxing at character creation.
As for what is "best" for the server. Well, IMO it would be nice to see at least 50% of all PC's as human. I don't see any problems with one extra epic level bonus feat, but that is my opinion alone.

but you commented (slap - epic pwnage)newoa wrote:No commentHydrocarbonated wrote:Humans are one of the best races already. Giving them more feats isn't going to induce people to play them... at least, not for the right reasons..
I must agree with you actually
humans being obviously the easiest race for beginners, due to their flexibility, are not the best race in fact
well, example? play shapeshifter druid with human, bearing in mind that here 27 wisdom is the decreased value already - u will start with max 18, in fact you will have to use 2 additional epic feats to get it
... but after all picking race due to its build is a powerbuilding, right newoa?

Anyway IMHO people should stop asking about things like that, bc if agreed then other will rise their cry to acquire something else and this will be an endless battle full of nerfing
it is cool as it is right now... just leave it:P and let DMs work on something new rather than constantly changing things things u ppl dont like
this week is genasi week I think, kinda annoying when you took the race bc of rp reason and one day you see all the people playing it..., but this may be a situation which is seen due to different playing times of all members and could be a simple coincidence
