A large half-orc in full plate and a horned helm walks into the Feldepost Inn and clomps up to the bar, with a grin on his face. "Yumz!" He bellows as he unties his coin pouch and opens it, withdrawing several coins. "What'll ya have?" Sam asked the grinning brute. "Bak yumz!" was the grinning response. Sam blinked at the half-orc a moment trying to figure out what the obviously dim-witted patron was saying. The half-orc then put a thumb to his chest, saying, "Bak Hazo!" then points to Sam. Sam nods and points to himself, "Sam..." seeming to understand the way Bak exchanges names. "Very well, Bak," The experienced tavern owner replies. He turns and grabs a bottle of cheap whiskey from the shelf and presents it to Bak. "Yums?" Sam asks. An emphatically nodding head flicks a few drops of drool from Bak's chin onto a broad, metal-plated chest as a large hand extends with several coins covering the palm. Sam deftly pours the drink as he retrieves the proper amount of gold from Bak's outstretched paw. Pushing the glass across the counter, Sam watches a hand grab and hide the glass then in one swift movement, empties its contents into a tusked mouth, spilling some on the cheeks and chin. Sam furrows his brow as Bak slides the glass back and repeats, "Yumz!" with an extended palm still full of coins. "Maybe whiskey will eventually be dangerous." He grabs a stein and fills it with ale and slides it to the half-orc, again taking coins. Bak takes a large guzzle from the stein and wipes his mouth with the back of a gloved hand. Sam grins as he sees the stein still containing ale. "Drinking slower and not as hard stock will be good for you my friend." Bak grins at Sam then asks, "Frunz?!" Sam laughs and says, "Sure, why not? You seem har... oooof!" Bal interrupts Sam in mid sentence with a shout of, "Frunz hugz!" grabbing the shocked innkeeper and hugging him tightly. Unable to inhale and shout to be put down, Sam struggles as his feet tangle under him. Seemingly just as quickly as it happened, a jovial Bak sets him down and Sam steadies himself with the bar. Seeing a few patrons stand with apprehensive expressions, Sam waves them back, "No, no! We're fine! No need to start a brawl that i am sure will end bad!" Sam looks up at the massive orc-blood in front of him, grinning as he takes another large gulp of ale. "What I really need is a translator... someone that speaks Bak!"
So, help Sam Feldepost understand Bak. Add your Bak to Common translations here... oh, and if I see any Bak-enized characters, I will be posting screen caps of them. Have fun!

Sari walks into the inn and leans against a wall with a small smile, her arms folded against her chest, while watching Bak and Sam talk. Seeing Sam's confusion, she walks up to the bar and stands next to the large half-orc and leans across to Sam. "He says you are friends and he seems to like hugging his friends." She chuckles and plops a coin down onto the counter. "I would like a stein of mead, please."
Life is an amazing journey full of lessons to learn. One such lesson is that anything worth having must be earned, otherwise it is taken for granted and tossed aside on a whim.

"Thank ye, lass," Sam nods, "He needs someone around to help translate for him..." Sam chuckles as his eyebrows flicker with an idea. "Maybe this will help me as well!" Sam stoops under the counter of his bar and pulls out a parchment, quill and ink well. He pens the following:
If you know the half-orc named Bak Hazo, you can really help me out by adding a list of translations for his words to the bottom of this sheet, Thanks!

A tiny fire-haired female with a flawless complexion and perfect bone structure (from head to toe) dressed in a form fitting dress saunters to the bar and then notices the note posted by Sam... with a giggle she pens the following on the space below.
Ux - this word refers to Bak's favorite weapon and also means to hit, to hurt and to kill.
With a wink at Sam, she orders the tavern's most expensive wine... and some chump at the other end of the bar offers to pay for it.

That chump is Charraj. After paying for the drink, the wizard speaks to Sam.Nihm wrote:With a wink at Sam, she orders the tavern's most expensive wine... and some chump at the other end of the bar offers to pay for it.
"He also doesn't like the word "orc."
Charraj realizes what he's just said. "Oops."

Re: A Pig-faced Half-orc at the Feldepost Inn
Glace Lyonson scribbles some Bak to common phrases down on a piece or parchment:
"Uhks"- this is what it sounds like, "Orcs"
"Huff Uhk" Bak will always corrects folks if you say he is an Orc with the reply, "Bak Huff Uhk!", or half orc
"Futs"- this means "to fight" as in" Bak futs uhks!"
"Ux"- I believe this means axe, or to kill. as in, "Bak ux uhks!"
"Junts", this is his term for "Giants"
"Funz", Bak when "uxing junts" will oftne yell out "Funz!", which means, "fun"
Some other things of note: He cannot pronounce certain syllables such as the "L" sound. This is usually substituted with a "w" sound as in Glace would be "Gwuss".
I also notice every word other than his name he pronounces with an "uh" sound regardless of the word. "Axe" is "Ux"; "Half" is "Huf"; "fight " is "futs"
I hope you find this helpful!
Regards,
Glace Lyonson

Taking the ale from Glace, Bak shouts, "Yumz!" and returns the pat to Glace's back...his_dudeness wrote: *he hands Sam the parchment and gives Bak a smile and a pat on the back and buys Bak another Stein of Ale*

and shrugs as the mage is suddenly on the floor. He is grinning when he guzzles the whole stein of ale.

Just quick OOC note regarding how Bak pronounces his name:
Bahk... as in what a doctor tells you to say when he wants you to open your mouth and say "ah" except with a "B" and a "K" on the ends. Some might think it is pronounced like "back" which could be the actual pronunciation but not a sound typical of the lumber some half-blood.

Verix walks in and begins to write down just a few words that he has learned from Bak.
Twuhz - Trolls
Bubbuz - Bubbles, which he refers to any sort of magic as bubbles.
///Thats all I know for now, still trying to figure out Bak's ways///
