Rumours of Sshamath

Rumors speak of the death of a Master Faern from the School of Evocation, ambushed by gols in the tunnels nearby the city. One of the Charnag is reported to be investigating and gathering eye witness accounts of event.

Perhaps at least somewhat unsual, a small group of orcs along with a worg and an elemental were seen transporting a huge cache of lumber into Breagan's guild quarters recently. Where the lumber came from, and how it got there is perhaps unknown.

The unknown individual is seen around asking the freelancers and mercenaries to find diamonds, offering good price for them, sometimes even greater two times than market price. It is speculated if the person in question really needs them or is just uncommonly fascinated with these gems.

*Rumors spread that a group of Kivvil killed a couple drow in the crypts, who were fined for being there, last cycle. The Drow were subsequently raised and questioned as well as the Genasi that was found with the bodies alive.

The guard has been notified to search for any recent new comers to the city and "question" them thoroughly.*

*Rumors are all over the tavern about how a water genasi wizard attacked a young jalil named Triel and escaped before the Guards could arrive. No one was killed, though a jaluk who stood nearby named Izzdar suffered serious burns.*

Rumors spread throughtout Sshamath, indicating that a new mercenary guild known as Noamuth Vesdrac is on the look out for potential recruits. When individuals express interest in the guild at the festhalls and taverns, members of the staff offer said patrons a small parchment with three runes inscribed upon it and instruct them to leave their contact information on the reverse.

Rumors says that a goblin group went to far to attack caravans next to Sshammath, they stole to many valuable things. A small team of drow troops heared about it, and easily crushed them. What result? It will turn out in the coming weeks. One thing is certain: Much less a worm moves in the tunnels now.

Word spreads of how a Lolthite by the name Zes'zekaun, lured into the tunnels of Varalla's Passage, was brutally attacked and tied up by a mostly crazed gnome, and promptly released. Reports of the laughter and bad rhyming from an invisible voice spread from the tavern and anyone nearby at the time.

Small piles of stone indicative of makeshift monuments can be found increasingly throughout the city. Particularly in areas of unworked stone or cavern faces.

The small piles of stone are obviously made from stones of the immediate area but are stacked in such a way as to be obviously not naturally occuring.

The rumor is spread about commotion outside of the city. Some say that it was started by drow criminal attacking violently the guard in the Varalla's Passage in broad magelight. The further rumors divide in opinion, but the outcome was the same: the fugitive was found and dealt with. Or so they say...

The recent slave insurrection was controlled by the officer Despana and a band of mercenaries under the supervision of Conclave Representative Vaszyne.
The Stone Spear goblin tribe and their salamander advisor had gathered a minor kobold tribe and several escaped slaves under their banner and led an attack on Sshamath, planning to detonate smokepowder barrels in Varalla's passage so as to collapse the roof of the city.

The Stone Spear warren was burned down and collapsed in retribution, but reports of the goblinoids burrowing back out have already reached the Charnag Maelthra.

Surface trade seems to be flourishing recently, their products can be purchased at a lower price than usual, and Sshamath makes a good profit from the toll percentage and the trade permits.

But it would seem the rivvil bring turmoil with them, for the second night in a row the city was attacked, this time by an unknown drow faction, using driders as shock troops, all female spellcasters, wearing no insignias or signs of identification.

We can only hope the two assaults weren't connected.

This afternoon the establishment was temporarily closed for nearly two hours due to investigation. Rumors say various tales. But many opinions of drunk customers cannot face the truth of main witness who saw the event. The proprietor of the festhall say about the unknown masked individual, who was standing with burning torch near the violatile drinks. He made no demands and left. It is speculated that the person in question was sent by rival establishment to sabotage the business. The guard has taken intererest in case due to the fact that he had accomplice, who was seen with drawn bow in the tavern clearly violating the law about brandishing weapons in city limits.

Several Moons after the killing of first daughter Maytyrr of House Do'ana in the Gauth Grottoes, some whisper at the hands of the highest dignitaries of Qu'ellar Mori'hyanda, and the last sighting of the former firstson of the House, known to have resided in Sshamath, the name of Do'ana is whispered within the City of Dark Weavings yet again.
