(These writings are translated from the written form of Undercommon, the language that Ergluk El Monog learned to first write in and can write the best in)
I write this journal in effort to document my goal in changing the Orc race.
I have finally found a person to teach me. Road has been long and hard, traveling many miles throughout world to Baldurs Gate. It is interesting to see how much I have learned about magics these 5 years. And how much of what the Orc shamans teach is wrong.
Mistress Revas is a very good teacher. She is patient with fact that I do not speak common well yet. Many do not understand that I have only speak common for few months now. They do not realize I know 4 languages.
I am glad Mistress Revas is willing to teach me. It was not same situation when I made it to Underdark after banishment from my tribe. Drow do not take kindly to sharing magics with any race. I should have known that before I arrived. But I was naive. Drow turn me into soldier in mines. They promise teach me magics, but only ever make me soldier to guard goblin slaves. How I learn goblin language. Well, I first knew goblin from some dealings with Goblins within Orc tribe. some goblin slaves we had, also some goblin tribes our tribe fight against. I picked up small portions of language. Perfected it working with Goblin slaves in underdark.
I then learned the language of underdark from times spent in cities underground. Plus the small amounts I knew from dealings with Underdark my tribe made. When not guarding slaves, I spent time in taverns. listening to people who live there. Eventually, I pay one with earnings how to read and write language of underdark.
Eventually, I realized Drow will not ever teach me how to be a wizard. I realize I need to find a way out of underdark. Luckily, I was not a slave, So I was free to go when I wanted. I am guessing owner of mine not happy I left without warning, but I left Underdark the same way I entered. The entrance was an entrance my tribe used to communicate with Drow. We were sometimes mercenaries for them in battles.
Upon reaching surface, I made my way to coast. I thought, if Drow not teach me to be a wizard, perhaps humans or elves would. Some human would most likely find my goal worthy of helping me. I found a pirate vessel willing to take me as sailor on their boat. I began learning Common speak then, and some writing from a sailor who knew underdark language. The pirates were good lot, who realized I not normal Orc, just as they are not normal humans. They realize I smarter than I look, and enjoy small amounts of magics that I know.
We make it to Baldurs Gate, and my journey on the Sword Coast began. It was my first day here, and I meet Mistress Revas and her teacher Rhys. Mistress Revas was willing to teach me, when she learn of what my goal is. I now write down my goal, as follows.
1. To become a Wizard of magic, combining Orc warrior tradition with learned Wizard tradition.
2. Return to tribe, and become chief through Orc customs of battle.
3. Begin teaching tribe that learning is a very good thing. Teach shamans real magics.
4. Become more civilized, develop tribe. Make stronger than other tribes, stop wars. Make tribe grow strong, not let our Orcs die.
5. Unite other tribes under our banner. Make Orc nation. Make learned orc nation.
6. Earn respect of Humans, elves, and dwarves. Stop them killing Orcs. End war, and have nations work together to fight against real problems that harm nations of world.

Mistress Revas heard this goal, and find it worthy of her teaching me. Rhys not approve, But I think I can prove Rhys wrong. Under guidance, Mistress Revas already teach me many good things. I learn I can change my god of worship. I no longer follow Ilneval, God of War of Orcs. I am now searching for a new God. I have now heard of Torm, Oghma, Mystra, and Lathander, all Gods who seem to be good. Lathander seems the one who is perfect for my mission, but I do not know yet.
I have learned that prejudice run wild in this region. However, tolerance of my goal also is common among many adventurers. At camp fires, Some will sit and listen intently and enjoy my goal. Others will sneer and call me a bastard orc.
In my head, I laugh, for they think they know the truth. They do not know I am pure gray Orc. Which makes everything so much harder. But I remember Mistress Revas lesson to me. I must do unexpected, what they think I would do as Orc I must not do.
My final note in this journal for today is a thought. I have now learned four languages. Well, Common I do not speak perfect yet, but I am working to that point. But I wonder if there is a chance I find someone in this region who will teach me the languages of Dwarven and Elven? For in my goal, I someday will have to be diplomatic with Elves and Dwarves. So if I learn their language, they will see I have made changes for them. That way, they will change for how I hope to change the Orcs.
Also, if I can learn Elven, perhaps I can convince the Elves of this place, Doron Amar they speak of, to let me learn at the academy. Rhys said an Orc would never be allowed. I hope I can change that.

Re: Ergluk El Monog- Wizard.
The other day I came upon body of a dead man. person I was with, Kal, say he a bad man. Say his name Tyrone Black and that he a bad man. We decided to hide his body, then continue northward from beregost.
Once we neared candlekeep, we came upon the man Basilius. Basilius was heading south, and we told him we found Tyrone. Basilius said that there was a bounty on him. I didn't believe Basilius, but my companion did.
We went back south, but I hurried ahead to grab the body before they could get there. They began arguing, because I didn't think Basilius wanted to turn him in. I thought Basilius was going to raise him. I ran away from them invisible, up to the friendly arm inn.
I made it to the friendly arm inn, and showed the body to a noble of the Gate. the noble said there wasn't a bounty on that man's head. I knew there was something strange going on.
Then, the body disappeared, for dead man decided to let the god of death resurrect him.
