Changing the alignment

Is there a way to actually change alignment if there are good RP reasons? Let's say that an evil character is redeemed in some way, or that a good character is corrupted.

Is it possible?

Yes. A DM will shift it a little with good RP reasons. A drastic alignment shift will probably take place over a month or two.
