The archery contest starts off! Accuracy round

A cool wind blows across the grassy meadow behind the Friendly Arm Inn. A row of archery targets is neatly arranged and awaiting the piercing of the contestants' arrows.

There is ample room for spectators, and more than enough supplies for all. Fresh fruit, kegs of ale, the finest wines and of course the fine young ladies of the Friendly Arm Inn to serve customers [just don't think too hard about the fact that they are, in fact, iron golems with an illusion cast on them].

The elf clad in green chainmail rises from his table, and pronounces the archery contest to be opened. He raises a glass, and salutes all who have gathered here to join in the festivities. He then explains the rules of the game again, and invites the contestants to start their competiton, motioning to the table on which, on elaborate racks, the bows to be used are displayed. He further explains that the competition will be started with a test of accuracy, later to be followed by a test of creative skill.

Among the bows are elaborately crafted composite bows, and the simplest of longbows. Some are decorated with fine elven woodcraft, others are left plain and unadorned. Nonetheless, all are of excellent quality; light yet strong, and sure to be a pleasure to use.

"Who then," the elf asks, "Will step forward first? Who will dare to start the competition?"

OOC: Sorry for taking so long guys, my harddisk fried, among other things, so I wasn't really able to even play NWN2. In any case, I hope this will start it off. Rules of the first round are already explained (See: http://bgtscc.net/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=16567). If you want to participate, just reply, showing your luck with the archery targets. Of course, people who do not actually participate can reply too! Cheer your friends, show your admiration for their skill, or do something entirely different (and/or sinister). My only hope for this is that people will participate and have fun.

For clarification, this is round one. There will be another round after this which will be pure roleplay and all about (roleplaying)trickshots.

Important Edit: Ah - one thing I did forget to mention: you are allowed three shots on the archery target! Apologies to FairVigil and FlyingAces. Feel free to edit your posts to include the other two shots!

*Sil'vimand looks over the selection of bows displayed, reading over the rules on the pamphlet again he removes his cloak and unclasps his scabards taking a couple pulls on the string*

After taking a few deep breaths he calmly brings the bow up and taking aim lets loose a arrow that sinks deeply into the target.

"3rd circle!" sil says somewhat disappointed to anyone judging.

Hearing the rules more clearly, Sil winces at B's proficient use of the plain looking bow.

*Beatrix Gingerly picks the plainest bow possible, likely the worst looking bow there, tests the string and takes a sight down the bow. She takes a calm step up to the line for the contest... taking aim she asks for a metal shield to be held off to the side of the archery lines.... she changes her aim towards the shield that is brought out and while its moving hits it, glancing off of it and straight into the bulls-eye of her target.*

Bulls eye. *is the only thing she says as she pulls another arrow in her bow letting it loose after a second of aiming watching it land in the center of the target near the other one, this shot was plain and with no flair to it.* A second Bulls eye.

*She takes aim again and then shoots up into the sky, and turns away from the target, placing the bow down and glancing to the crowd and judges*

Bulls eye.... *She says with her eyes watching the judges, just before the arrow she shot into the sky falls down and pins itself vertically into the arrow she had shot into the bulls-eye before it, the edge of the arrow pressing against the target's center. Beatrix quietly walks away giving a small prayer to Solonor Thelandira*

"hmph* Sil says readying the bow.

-Thunk- An arrow sinks into the second circle. A look of frustration flashes across his face. Clearly Vexed Sil'vimand hastily pulls the string back and lets fly his final shot. A snort is heard from the elf as the arrow sails by the target.

"My good sir, i believe i owe you 25 gold pieces!!" Sil says fiercly to the event holder. Snapping the bow over his knee and tosing it to the ground angrily.

A travel stained light haired elf wearing padded cloth armor, dark cloak, quiver and holding an exquisite Logbow approaches the archery contest to sign his name, Acheron Shadowbow, on the participators list.

He quietly selects a long bow for the bows supplied, pulls the string and tests the pull. He calmly walks forth to stand at the archers mark, frowns and retreats further back, twice the distance. Drawing his first arrow just slightly back into the bend of the bow he releases it to fly slowly forward, clearly without the forward momentum to reach the target so far ahead of him.

As the first arrow slowly moves across the field Acheron draws two arrows with lightning speed firing them both at the same moment. Both arrows speed forward overtaking the first , their arrow heads sandwich the first arrow driving all three into the bulls eye at the same moment.

With a shrug he places his borrowed bow back on the rack and retrieves his longbow, sauntering off to wait for the results.

Quin Waynn enters the archery range, cursing and swearing at Captain Norton's decision to send him to it. He is wearing a green shirt under the traditional white Flaming Fist tabard. His First shot hits the bullseye, making it all look steady and easy. He then proceeds to fire his other two arrows simultaneously, both of these arrows reach the bullseye without much of an hassle.

The elf claps his hands in applause, congratulating the Flaming Fist mercenary on his fine display of archery, then scans the crowd and asks in a loud voice: "Surely there are more who would wish to test their skill? Step forward, step forward, and show us what you're made of."
