DM Imaginations Unchained (Events and Plots)

Unread post by Imaginations »

Hhhmm, how do I start this. Most the rules in my events will just fall as common courtesy and respect to your fellow player. (Much of the guidelines set up by my fellow DMs in arms) Play your character as you would and don't be afraid to do just that(and it better fall with in server rules ;) )! We'll deal with the reactions and the repercussions as they come. Either it be evil spoiling good or good banishing the evil...maybe even the neutral giving a strong lecture to the goodies and baddies about "balance"!

Most of my events, (at least for now) will not be mass spawning of monster but more me wandering around the server trying to find grinding or bored players and sending a normally hostile NPC faction to seek the aid or one of them interacting somehow.

Gonna be taking small steps here as this is my first place ever DMing. So it is just as exciting to me as it is to you!(I hope :D ) So lets see where our Imaginations lead us!

I just like this picture +_+

I ran a small event "The Black Spear Bites" in which a Lizardfolk Warrior fled to the campfire of the FAI seeking help in efforts to recover the Shamans staff stolen by the Batriti(sp) so they can resume praying.

He gathered a small group and they fought along side the Lizardfolks of the forest as Batriti attacked the Lizards in the forest, they made it through the woods and through the first two levels of the mines.

The party after some wandering and slaying many Batriti found "Black Spear" the Chief of it all. They tried to reason with the goblin, but logic was beyond him as he felt the staff gave him more power and he was quickly defeated by the warriors. The staff was returned, much praise and honor was given to the "warm-bloods" They returned to the light and the staff filled them with some new enlightenment of the world.

A group enter the Sea Caves in search of hides and treasure, they are attacked by a number of angry Trolls, threatening them and yelling to protect the Leader, they then encounter and fight a Fell Troll and slay it...the attacks stops after that.

Faith Havensgrove
Krug Skull'hammer
Fastolph Ostgood
Aelarus
Skye Hill

Each was awarded 250 XP.

Andreava Windsong and Etto Voloc are way-laid by a larger number of goblins as they talk by the road in The Trade Way as they follow the movement of the large number of goblins they are attacked by a few more large groups. The tracks lead to the north of The Trade Way just above the waterfall. Another group of adventurers beat the two to the army, while dealing a heavy blow to the number of goblin troops, they fled after becoming overcome by the number of Goblin Arcane Casters.

Andreava Windsong and Etto Voloc finish up the scattered troops, upon searching the battle field they find a crude made, denoting troop movements and seems that they large number of goblins have been originating from the Abandoned Mine. The two make their way back to the Abandon Mine, at the entrance they meet up with Drek'thul Kilm'gar, he joins the efforts to solve this problem.

The trio prepare and enter the mines, to be met by a large group of goblins, gnolls and bugbears. Another joins the fray after he was sulking around the mine as they entered, Fastolph Ostgood groups up with the trio. The group slowly makes their way through the mines fighting off more goblins, gnolls, bugbears, wolves, orges and more manner of goblinoids. They finally reach the end of the mine fighting off The Slayer and The Destroyer, large powerful gnolls with their assortment of troops. Grasped in the hands of one of the leaders was a finely written note with scrawling of gnoll in the side, indicating all the leadership orders are coming from the Lighthouse.

As they again set out another, stumbles upon their small task force, Arkaine Half-Orken. The big orc is given the information they had at hand and they make their way out of the mine. Seeing as they were no match for the slowly growing force the goblin army resorts to heavily....heavily trapping the area out of the mines. They spend the time stepping carefully and disabling the traps. Making it out yet other crosses their path, Mario Alabars, joins the fray. Just before they reach the light out they are assaulted by one last large group stationed in the mine, full of dread wolves, goblins of all types, gnolls, gibberlings, ogres and a few giants. The group is spent by the movement against them is felled.

Reaching the light of day the team takes a rest, they are now set to assault the Lighthouse, as they trek with uncertainty to the Lighthouse as they crossed the bridge they are against attacked by a large contingent of troops. But a new terror was in the wake of this force a powerful ogre possessing dark and deadly magics, the mage wreaked havok upon the group, summoning a devil and slaying most of the group.

Only the less experienced druid remained, as he was running blindly around a local guard captain was patrolling. The druid beckoned the guard captain to seek help, frightened and worried he ran and got a small force of Lanthanderite guards, the four guards and captain helped the weakened and near dead druid. Sadly in the fray two of the Lathanderites were over-powered and killed by the ogre mage, from fortune and fate the guard captain managed to get a lucky hit and finally bring down the magical terror ((Hehe...Sneak attack Critical!!)).

In the aftermath the local Lanthader Priest rushed to the aid and worried of the army sent Greg, Steve and Bob to help the adventurers after returning the fallen to life. The rested and carried onward! The partied prepared and gritted themselves the for the last of the army sent to cleanse The Trade Way. They rushed headward on!!

Which was their undoing, the last remaining forces had many wolves, ogres, giants with deadly trained lizards and two of the dark ogre mages and many of the lesser troops. Perhaps the force was too many or they didn't act in a uniformed manner, but the last numbers of the army put up a powerful front and defeated many of the adventurers but not before taking a large number of fatalities. The few still having energy fell back to regroup.

Hearing of the battle, it seems to their luck that the Temple in Beregost sent word to Naskel and a priest of Helm made his way quickly to the battle. He too aided the adventurers and returned the fallen to life, but the acts of returning so many spent him and he could not aid the adventurers anymore. The group rested and prepared as they tried to control the wary and fool-hardy Mario from killing himself rushing in.

They leaped into the battle one more time, and from weakening their numbers in the first skirmish managed to defeat the last of the army. The army threatening the Trade Way now lies broken and defeated at their feet, they have won something for the safety of the people this day. But not without sacrifice...4 Lathander Guards and a Guard Captain fell to the army. Steve, Frank, Stan, Bob and Greg will not be forgotten by those that fought these battles.

Walking to the last of their goals, they enter the Lighthouse and find it in total disarray and chaos, but they find no one there. The battle broke them and sent the adventurers scattered, needing to regroup allowing the one behind the gathering forces to flee with any real evidence. They only found reports of troop movements and expenses about the army, they defeated the army but lost the leader....

Perhaps they will return in the future, only time will tell...
