I know ive mentioned this before so il keep it lite. My ranger used to scry an area before entering and would hostile for tracking anyone withing. Akin to rp looking for tracks at the trans. In my experience the only people who hide are on loot runs or bandits. Both of which leave tracks. I know it does more good then harm in terms of meta gaming so can we come to some middle ground for rangers?
So i was wondering if i can have permission to hostile the server if i make my status "hostile for tracking" ??? i would be responsible for acting appropriately and if my hostile causes harm then i should be held responsible. Also if i get shot with an arrow or attacked by a companion i must be understanding as to why it happened?
Truly my pc is only half as fun to play as he could be if his main focus could be employed.

No FairVigil. Please don't hostile the server.
It causes to many problems for the DM's IG as they get bombarded with questions, and confuses some of the players to.
Thats why we banned setting everyone on the server to hostile.

Is there a way to make non hostiles come up on the navmap? With say green or another colour dot?

Not that I know of Muttley. I'm sure tracking is all hard coded in the game engine like a lot of other things.
So it can't be changed.
