Cully, The Curious Kobold

Plot:

A kobold approaches the campfire near the Friendly Arm Inn claiming that a magical rod gone awry has both polymorphed and teleported he and his brother. He claimed his brother was changed into a rabbit and he a Kobold. Eventually the kobold explains that he is a very young Bronze Dragon and that if he doesn't find his brother then their mother will be VERY angry. Several noble adventurers take up the task of finding the missing bunny.

Summary:

Through much travel and small clues from the somewhat erratic kobold, the adventurers discover that the bunny is located in the Greypeak Mountains. After searching for many long hours and killing a seemingly endless supply of fire elementals, the group of adventurers finally find the cute bunny. One of the group casts a dispel magic spell to attempt to reverse the polymorph affect and were eventually successful. Now two young bronze dragons stood before them. The dragons promised a reward for helping them. The dragon gave each adventurer a Gem of Seeing so that in the future they could see through simply illusions and polymorph affects.

Reward:
Experience: 2500xp
Gold: 0 (save one who was 30th level, he received 5000gp)
Items: Gems of Seeing

Meeting of the Minds
(Underdark Plot)

Plot:

The Wizard Azzur mind melds with an illithid and agrees to aid them in the arts of Necromancy

Summary:

Deep in the Underdark, a Deep Imaskarin Wizard named Azzur encountered and parlayed with a leader among the Illithids. The illithids were somewhat impressed with his command of the arcane and that he had played the part of test subject perfectly. The illithids were hard at work developing creatures, or rather abominations, to protect their Underdark home. Their newest creatures were modified spiders, but Azzur quickly dispatched them. It became clear to the illithids that a more robust line of defense would be needed and so they made a pact with Azzur. Azzur proposed that an undead army would be a far better defense than spiders or duergar. The illithid leader agreed to allow Azzur to train them in the arts of Necromancy and to help them build their army in exchange for a place to conduct his own experiments, to which they agreed also.

Rewards:

Belt of Agility
2000xp

How the Mighty are Fallen
(Part I - Abaddon the Destroyer)
Character:
Abaddon is an angel of destruction in service to Corellon, God of the Elves. He has served Corellon for as long as he can remember, and he can remember a very long time. He remembers the fall of Malkizid, over 30,000 years ago, and he remembers playing a crucial role in Malkizid's removal from the heavens. He remembers all the great wars of the elves and as the angel of destruction he remembers aiding Corellon in the banishment of the Drow. He remembers the rise and fall of every elven nation from Evereska to Myth Drannor to Evermeet. He has seen Gods come and go, magic wax and wane with the rise and fall of the Goddesses of Magic. He is an ancient being in every respect. Ancient in knowledge and ancient in power. He is the Angel of Destruction for Corellon, and now he has fallen. He is tall standing nearly 10', his skin is silver in color and his amber eyes blaze like the sun. His voice is deep like the ocean and he has six massive wings with which he flies, and his Sword is feared even among the mighty Solar.

Plot:
Abaddon, for failing to follow the command of Corellon, has been removed from the heavens and his sword cast to the earth (Toril). Corellon instructs three angels to watch Abaddon and to judge his actions in this time. Corellon has not cast Abaddon out forever, but will use this time as a test of his faith to the Seldarine and to Him. Azaeriel, Bizantia and Aeon are the three angels instructed by Corellon to watch and record Abaddon's actions. In the end, Corellon will pass judgement on Abaddon and either remove him from the heavens forever or allow him to return to his position in service to Him.

Abaddon discovers the location of his Sword, which bears his name "the Destroyer". Azaeriel and his angels move to retrieve the sword before Abaddon. An unlikely character, a thief of the Sword Coast, discovers the sword before any of them, having seen it fall from the heavens. He is disturbed by its presence and confused. Azaeriel, Bizantia and Aeon arrive but do not take the sword by force. Instead they wait for the arrival of Abaddon to see what Abaddon will do. Abaddon arrives and also does not take the sword by force, but rather decides to allow the thief to make the decision himself. Would he give the sword to Azaeriel or to Abaddon? In the end, the thief gave the sword to Abaddon and a fight ensued. Abaddon defeated the other angels and they departed, saddened by his desire to fight. However, one of the PC's involved was killed in the fight and Abaddon used his power to resurrect the fallen character. Knowing that he was being watched by the other angels, Abaddon gave the two characters a Gem of Seeing, that they might be ever watchful for events involving Angels and report them back to him. He then said that his place now was with Malkizid, an angel of great power who fell long ago. However, he did not mean that he was joining Malkizid, but the characters do not know that.

Summary:
The characters involved are now the eyes and ears of Abaddon while he is away and await his return. Abaddon now has to decide if he will forever be out of grace of his Lord Corellon, or if he will decide to do the right thing and eventually return to the heavens. Only time will tell.

Reward:
1500 XP
