So I have been playing for the past month or so and have been having a great time. The main character i have been playing is a deep Imaskari ranger in the UD. It seems that none of the ranger skills work in any of the areas I have been IE woodland stride, camouflage and hide in plain sight
Is this known and deemed as tough luck? Is this also with the case of some ranger spells not progressing per level IE blades of fire?

Re: Ranger skills UD
Graft, since the entire UD is is composed on interiors, a lot of that will not work.
Rangers only get a lot of those skills while outdoors.
The way the game is, we can't really classify caves as outdoors.
This has comes up a few times before about letting rangers use HIPs in the Underdark, but we haven't come up with a solution.
For blades of fire, rangers spell caster level is 1/2 their ranger level.
Is this why it's progressing slowly for you?
It will not go up in duration every level.

Re: Ranger skills UD
Well I get why it doesn't work but it's still is a disappointment
I'm pure ranger and I was going off the wiki's description of blades of fire which is 1 round per ranger level. If it's 1 round per 2 levels then it's probably right.
I hate asking this but if Rangers are so not rangery in the UD is it possible to get a remake?

Re: Ranger skills UD
As a suggestion to fix the Woodland Stride issue for UD rangers, would it be a trade-off to give lvl 7 Rangers the Dash feat?
Alternatively, and better yet, create a bunch of item set gear with the Fast Movement feat for Ranger class only, to be sold in the UD. That way, they retain some of their class feat/abilities through work-arounds. Lvl 7 min req.
Watcha think?

As J.G. Ballard has said, "It's a mistake to hold back and refuse to accept one's own nature."

To add my two cents, my char Thrud Nose-breaker has light sensitivity, and I can confirm it only affects stat-sheet, not rolls.
My Characters:
Vreshna Fearlian, Half-elf and fine purveyor of pre-owned cats from glorious Rashemen.
Thrud Nose-breaker, the pugilist orc with a wayward soul
