Church of Helm role-play

Unread post by Knightmare »

About a fortnight ago, Solomon returned to the House of Guardians in Nashkel after having completed a mission to the north. Upon arrival in the temple, he found a distressed adventurer carrying a fallen person in her arms, frantically searching for a priest.

After quickly having appraised the situation, Solomon intervened and with the recitation of a sacred litany, the fallen adventurer was quickly on his feet again. Both of them were most grateful and offered compensation by gold but Solomon declined any personal reward and directed any financial gratitudes to the temple and its maintainance.

After an inquiry, Solomon learned that the adventurers were set on braving the orogs which roam the nearby iron mine. He decided to travel along to ensure their safety, and after having escorted them safely to the mines, he channeled the divine energy of Helm onto the adventurers who now found themselves bestowed with a newfound courage and enthusiasm. After having recieved Helm's blessing, the adventurers set out to slay the foul creatures while Solomon remained at the edge of the fortifications where he stood and vigilantly watched over them while they fought. If the adventurers should find themselves in a predicament, they were to return to him for additional protection, but with the wards and blessings of Helm they prevailed without the need for further protection.

A young looking human walks lively through the town of Nashkel, clearly not in a hurry yet his casual pace of movement seems hastened as if he is simply a fast walker. The man stands about five seven with brilliant blue eyes and black hair, slightly pointed ears hint at a heritage not quite human. The man is adorned in golden yellow robes and bracers around his wrists, the robes and symbol around his neck depicting an open palmed hand which radiates rays of sunshine.

He steps calmy into the temple and as he walks down the asleway he drops to one knee and closes his eyes.

"Blessed be the vigilent one for the protective gaze he and his followers turn upon the land in order to root out evil no matter where it may hide, blessed be the vigilant ones faithful for carrying his ever seeing gaze in their mind, hearts and souls".

He stands and calmly approaches the nearest Helmite.

"My name is Davian Halren, I am a road warden of the Radiant Fist of Lathander and I seek audiance with those of your temple who would listen"". He smiles warmly, his hands at his side as he waits for a reply.

One of the adjacent Helmite clerics approaches.

"Salutations, Davien, servant of Lathander the Morninglord, and welcome to the House of Guardians. If you wish to wait for one of the leading figures to return from one of their missions, you are welcome to stay here with us. In case you have other matters to attend, may I direct you to the long-table at the entrance where you may leave a message with one of the clerics.

Helm watch over you."

The cleric bows slightly as a gesture, then returns to his business.

Delphinn enters the House of Guardians and looks around for a cleric. He approaches the man respectively and asks to speak to a senior member of the Church. Upon being directed to the clerk, he leaves a brief note.

To whom it make concern,

I want to thank you for your offer to bless those that seek to reclaim the Nashkel Iron Mine. I would like to speak with a senior member of your clergy to discuss the Nashkel Trade Emporium's plans and seek your aid. I'm currently travel frequently between the Nashkel and the Gate, but I check in frequently and do my best to accommodate your schedule.

Sincerely,
Delphinn Veil, NTE Proprietor

After a long trip to Crimmor in Amn, Solomon Mourngrim returns to the House of Guardians looking unusually battered and fatiqued, his spotless armor being severly dented and bloodstained. While recieving examining looks from the clergy, he quickly retires to his chambers while mumbling something to himself about frost giants and the potential risk they pose.
