The brooding Night..

Unread post by ZandelarFenwyk »

Why had he ever chosen this place to begin with. It would have suited him more to have traveled North from Waterdeep to Luskan, but no.. He had decided on safety before opportunity by coming to Baldurs Gate. "A goblet of your elven wine" he absently tells the barmaid. Having arrive a mere tenday ago Kassoth has met few. Of those he has met two have seemed stalwart companions for at least the short term. Agmandr was the name of one... A Cleric of sorts, he presumed anyway, and the Ranger called Mattius. Neither he suspected would be comfortable with him if they knew.....
"Here ye go luv" said the barmaid setting a goblet on the round table of the Elf Song Tavern. Kassoth pulled to gold coins from his belt pouch and placed them in her hands. Without saying another word he drank from the goblet. Sinking back into his chair and losing his thoughts to the fire. Yes this place will have to do. He could only wonder how long before those he fled would find him, or for that matter when those he met would discover his secret and shun him......

He was irritated. Kassoth had grown restless within the walls of Baldurs Gate and had decided to wander a bit on his own. He hadn't seen the Ranger Mattius today nor the Cleric Agmundr in several days.

He set off east through the farmlands and into the old cemetery. He had heard rumor of a Sage residing within who may have an idea as to where Mattius may learn more of Alchemy. It was not in his nature to help for nothing, however he felt his repayment could well come in potions in the future. After fighting his way past several restless dead he did indeed find the Sage....however this was a red herring as he was unable to offer any insight to assist Mattius.

Slogging back through the graveyard Kassoth turned South, crossing the bridge to the outskirts of town and making his way across the hills to a cavern reputed to have bandits. Upon entering he did indeed encounter a few slaying them where they stood some not even knowing he was beside them. As he moved back toward the entrance to explore another vein of the caverns he encountered another. A human, not with the bandits. There exchange was not a pleasant one and the human spoke with derision. Both men's words were sharp and all Kassoth could assume was this self proclaimed "hunter" could tell he was different....somehow.

After the exchange Kassoth again returned the the city. Made his way to the Elf Song and took up a seat near the fire. His mind raced..He needed to find another few allies. It would do him no good to be exposed. With his mind racing he ordered a goblet of wine and tried to relax. "You have only just arrived" he told himself. "It is different here....slower." For now he would take his rest. He would work out his next moves on the morrow.....

He had not left his room for days. There was to much to think about. He stood from his bunk and moved to the wash basin, cupping some of the cool water in his hands and splashing it onto his bearded face.
Tonight he would go out. He planned to travel South...along the Tradeway. He was unsure what he was looking for, but he had the feeling he needed to leave this place. He had been lost since coming here and again his thoughts wandered to the City of Splendors and the actions that had caused this reality.
"Bah!" he growled..angry with his own perceived weakness and self pity. He would go out this eve. He had no desire to remain in this room for any longer.......He would need to take care, but he knew he must go forth.........
