New Crossbow Feats

Well if longbows do 10 more damage then great! I personally believe that's how it should be. But I agree with whoever said it's easier leveling up a crossbow user. It's amazing being able to one-shot most creatures in the early levels when it's at range. But I think it's good that crossbows are on par with longbows. Partially because races like dwarves and gnomes look so much better with a crossbow than a longbow/shortbow.

Give Archers a free feat to allow them to ride druids, problem solved. No one will want to use crossbows anymore.

Pretty sure you can with a crossbow. You can't fire a longbow from a horse's back, though.

Why wouldn't you be able to fire a longbow? That seems like a sensical thing to use on a horse's back if you were trained.

The question we need to ask, what is a 'longbow' to you?
Is the British one, with height of 1.82 meters? (Avarage Scandinavian height for a man, which means it is tall, if you do not know better. )

Or is the bow possibly asymmetric?

Yup, you can't fire actual long bow from horseback. Short bow, sure. Crossbow, sure. But reloading it on while riding should be impossible. Like killing a dragon with carrot.

That's easy. You create a spell that bestows your victim will a deadly allergic reaction to whatever substance you want. Make it a carrot and throw it at the dragon. Viola, you've a dead dragon by carrot.

And it's true. The Mongols used powerful shortbows when riding on horseback. Because Longbows in reality are suppose to be about as tall as a human. Think about using that while riding a horse?

Or drow. =P

But the thing is, Strongheart Halfling is "the race" to make a crossbower due to their +2 to dexterity and one bonus feat.

Races that look cool with crossbows:

Gnomes!


Drow!


Dwarves!


Humans!


And well... halfling rogue-assassins.
