Background: Saurin was a slave of the Thayan empire for as long as he can remember. When captured, he suffered amnesia in the attack; a blessing, he believes, as he had no one to miss. He prayed to whatever god would listen and release him from this hell, but to no avail. At about eighteen years of age, he dreamed he was in an ice castle where a great prince gave him a bargain. He would give Saurin the power to escape his condition, if he in turn pledged to serve him. Saurin readily agreed eager to escape his captivity from the cruel Thayans. A dream, yes, that was all it was...a cruel dream he thought. But, one day, after another of his daily beatings, he grew especially angry. A feeling of power and energy pulsed within him. It was fleeting, but there was no mistake it was there. As the days progressed into weeks, in the pit of darkness, he honed this new power. The day came when he knew he had the power to break his chains. And, he did....with gleeful abandon, he murdered the Thayan family who owned him with unspeakable brutality and power. His escape from the Thayan territories took many weeks, but he finally reached the safety of the Sword Coast.

Goals: Revenge against all Thayans, maximize his powers, never again end up in slavery.

Possible Plot-Hook Ideas and Misc Facts: Perhaps something with the current Thayans in Baldur's Gate. He is a fugitive from Thay.
