That's just saying that it's a simple modification not that it's being worked on. :geek:

If you get DM approval and ask Ivan, TigerBomb or Luna they can do this real quick. Need DM approval though.
This this this this this pleaaase. In PNP talking negates your hide automatically. It's literally in the rules.

It annoys me to no end when someone starts talking while stealthed but doesn't drop stealth. The only compromise I can see is using whisper should be allowed while stealthed (Like delivering a message secretly or what have you.) but outright talking in stealth should automatically give away your position. I would looove to see this implemented.

Or at the very least, if they speak out loud they should get a big negative to Move Silent, like maybe 15-20 negative at least for talking loudly while trying to hide.

The game mechanics already has something like that if the hear you...but don't spot you. Your location is given but they can't be targeted direction, you can still AoE them though.

I found this out trying to sneak by some Fist PCs in the day, they heard me...but couldn't see me. So I was just a shadowy husk creeping by them. XD

Yep, the stealth vs spotter argument has been long won by the spotters here, and re-hashed a million times clearly showing (IMO) the tip toward spotting.
I don't know, maybe I only meet dedicated sneakers with insane hide/ms around 80. ? From my personal experience you need to have very good spot/listen gear and cast spells to have a little chance to notice them.

And if you hear something you know where it comes from usually ... Not knowing where a sound comes from, unless you're in a very particuliar area, sounds quite silly. Speaking loud should lower MS as light lowers hide.

yea dont get the two confused, there are few people who can actually spot most dedicated sneaks, spot as in have enough in the spot skill, but LOTS of people can detect a dedicated sneak with the listen skill, and the game engine for all the extra mods dont help any

so when you suggest that you should be able to spot a sneak just because you heard something is rather silly, i mean if you hear something come from behind a tree do you automatically see it? aside from the fact that they dont break line of sight...

I once saw a person, a sneak who was hiding, fall asleep on a bench at the Friendly Arms Inn campfire. Any time someone sat on the bench, she would push them off, scold them, and go back to sleeping while "hiding" on the bench. Everyone was staring at the bench, which she was lying on asleep, and nobody could see her.

Had I been a Dungeon Master at the time, I would have had an ogre sit on that bench and squash her flat.

In my humble opinion as a player, talking aloud or using a door, seat, chest, or loot bag should drop you out of stealth, simply because it is either drawing attention to where you are, or placing you in a position where it would be impossible to hide.

If a person in my events is abusing sneaking in such a manner, I will ask them to drop out of stealth.
An empty mind is like a pot for evil to crap in.
