The thing I'm referring to is the spot in which you right-click your character and click "Examine."
I'm confused about how this space is supposed to be used. I've seen it used in two ways: Some people have used it simply to describe the physical characteristics of the character, without going in-depth about the character's actual background. Others have used to tell part of the character's story.
My question is: Is there a "correct" way to use this space? Up until this point, I've been using kind of a hybrid of both methods. I have part of my character's physical appearance, but it also touches on his past and purpose of...walking around and doing stuff outside of his home =P

It's up to you really.
Some people don't want any meta-game possibilities so they leave it blank.
Or they like you to find out about them via RP so they leave it blank.
While others like to give you some hints or a lot of info in the BIO.

Intent behind it really was just to have it show your character's physical description and unique traits which otherwise will be left unknown due to very clean sprites the game has.

A few things that are proper:
*Your physical appearance (Seven-foot eight inches with a stern chin and high cheekbones)
*Description and details of visible armor/gear/clothing (Holy symbol of Lathander, sheathed longsword, shabby clothing)
*The sound of your voice (A rich baritone, deep and gravelly, sweet and clear, Chultan accent)
*General default facial expression. (this man usually wears a frown, scowling at those he meets)
A few things that are not proper:
*Your history (Born to a small family in Sembia, family slaughtered by bandits, etc)
*Your actions (This woman stares at you from across the room)
* "RP for more info"

In my opinion the most reasonable way to go with this is; Physical description in the In game bio + Background, Journal etc. in the Forums.Sandking wrote:The thing I'm referring to is the spot in which you right-click your character and click "Examine."

That way all the DM's can look up your background etc. if you want to. Also, you get 2000 xp for writing up your characters Biography on the forums, either in the Character Journals -> Character Biographies section, or by PMing them to DM's Passiflora and RabidBadger.
A journal is a handy way of informing the DM's and the players you wish to know (and don't wish to know) about the recent happenings around your character.
In realms of Mordayn Vapor.. Rollin' DC 16's.. Groovy.

Re: In regards to BioEditor...
As Luna pointed out, the choice is ultimately yours, Sandking.
Some information can be provided, such as noticeable features of a person which can include: visible scars, definition of armor, visible weapons, posture, size, height, age, eye color, etc.
I would avoid putting information about your character's background, unless it's a noticeable feature (accent, appearance, etc). Any "historical" information of your character should be avoided, though, to prevent metagaming. There are options available to store this, such as creating a journal.
